Animal Tales (The Jim Weiss Audio Collection) Audio CD – CD, October 1, 2015

Have been a fan of Jim Weiss since I was a child and my Mother brought home the first copy of one of his cassette tapes. Of course Cassette is out of fashion so I purchased several for my mother to work on replacing her collection. I bought a used copy from a third party seller who got it to me on time and in good shape. The disk quality is good and the recording is everything as expected from the audio cassette.A little on Jim Weiss - Jim Is known as a great story teller. His works are story versions of biblical stories, animal stories, historical stories and many more. His voice is excellent and his usage of character voices etc. Make him an excellent source for small children. Remember he tells things in story form. for example his biblical tales aren't 100 % accurate but they are understandable to small children. He makes characters and people come to life.I will be purchasing again once I have my own children.

My four-year-old loves Jim Weiss CDs. We can put them on for a long car rides and he’s not completely bored And I don’t feel so bad for keeping him in the car because he’s reading stories.

My son listened to this when he was 3 or 4 until he had it memorized. He's now 20. We have a tape of him reciting "The Three Billy Goats Gruff". We ended up with quite a large collection of Jim Weiss stories; they were an important part of his childhood. It gave me some time to get chores done, and he learned to listen, to form images in his mind from the spoken word. He's at Stanford now studying mechanical engineering, and I'll give Jim Weiss some credit.

My daughter likes Angelina because she has been taking ballet lessons. I am not sure I always agree with some of the messages in these videos though. She sort of got bored with these very quickly and has moved on to Disney films.

We love listening to these in the car. You can listen to just a few of these wonderfully told short stories or listen to the entire CD. Jim Weiss is a great storyteller.

Five stars if it were more audible. The sounds goes from low to high fairly often so you have to adjust the sounds a little too much.

My three and five year old LOVE these stories. They especially love the Piggly Wiggly, which is the one Weiss wrote himself. He is great with the voices. The stories are pretty short so keep my three years olds attention, but recognizable and fin for my five year old. I highly recommend this CD.

It's a wonderful CD, great reading, sounds etc. My only criticism is that my 5 year old has the skip the story about the "angel of death" - it's a great story just not suitable for kids under 7 really (waldorf).
