Page turner
Right from the beginning I didn’t want to put it down. Thank God the weekend was right around the corner. At first it made me a bit crazy that it jumped around in time, but it made the conclusion and identifying all the characters all that much better!!

Just Okay
Technically written well with no punctuation, spelling errors, etc., but there are too many time periods that jump back and forth in years that left me confused at times, and there are also many characters to keep track of. The hook at the beginning drew me in, but you have to read through a lot of stuff that didn't seem to be relevant in order to get to the end where you (kind of) understand why the main character did what she did to her ex-husband.

what a treat!
The hostess of my bookclub this month is a personal friend of the author of Unknown Caller. What a wonderful treat to meet Debra Spark personally at our monthly bookclub meeting and have the opportunity to discuss the book and backstory directly with her! The book was thought provoking, engaging and a definite recommended read. : )

Page Turner
This is one of those books that grabs you right at the beginning, and doesn't let go. Just when you think you have the complex characters figured out, there is a twist that makes you question your earlier assumptions. Beautifully written and a real page turner that leaves you with many questions to ponder about marital issues, familial relationships, and the role parents play in shaping their children's future.

A fascinating read
This is a wonderfully thought-provoking novel. It kept me guessing throughout with its multi-layered characters that revealed themselves more and more fully across times and places. The storyline covers a variety of jobs and locations and personal connections, all realistic. It's amazing the different roles we might all play in others' lives, and we can never fully know one another.

I have always admired Debra Spark's writing for its intelligence, complex characters, wry humor, and action that keeps me wanting to return to the book. This novel intrigued me throughout, and I very much enjoyed immersing myself in the world of these people and their intertwined, complicated, loving, and very real relationships.

Some good; some confusing
I've been through a similar situation, although not as dramatic as this one. She does capture the angst of reuniting father and child. The last 20 pages are the best in the book.
