Review: Jon Gordon does it again with another fantastic book! - Jon Gordon has done it again with "The Power of a Positive Team." He has taken his encouraging words of positivity, love, caring, and team work and bundled them into a book that speaks volumes. There are so many tidbits and words of wisdom that anyone who is a member of a team can benefit from reading. You say you aren't part of a team? What about your family, your work, your friends? We are all part of a team and this book is for you. Some favorite parts: "When you walk into the office, or the meeting, or into the school, hospital, or locker room, you have a decision to make. Are you going to be a germ to your team or a big dose of Vitamin C?" "[Teams] give up because the obstacle seems more powerful than them and they don't have the faith to keep moving forward. But you don't have to give up. You don't have to let fear win. You can know that all things are possible to a team that believes." Near the end of the book, Jon talks about the Greek word Meraki: to do something with love, soul, and creativity; to leave a piece of yourself in your work; to leave something behind. Thank you Jon Gordon for this piece of work and for your meraki. So, everyone who knows me, knows that I am a HUGE Jon Gordon fan. I have read all of his books and I believe that they are amazing. I have been thankful to be a part of not one, not two, but three of his book launches. I have to tell you that this book “speaks” to me. Those that have worked with me and several that worked for me know that I am all about the team and making sure they are balanced in assignments, home life and general well being. This book helps to reiterate that and gives helpful tips and ideas for the how. I truly recommend that if you are part of a team and you want to help yourself to be a better team mate then read this book!!! #positiveteambook

Another great read from Jon Gordon.
I was fortunate to receive a pre-launch copy of The Power of a Positive Team. Jon places a number of examples of the traits that positive teams exhibit. He also sets the book up to be used by teams as a "self-study" or guide to becoming a positive team. A couple of my favorite quotes from this book are: 1. "Positive teams confront the reality of challenging situations and work together to overcome them." 2. "It’s a purpose beyond oneself that truly drives and energizes people and teams." 3. "Don’t run from the difficult conversation. Don’t be scared of feedback. It is not meant to define you. It’s meant to help refine you so you can do your job better for your team." If you lead a team at school, sports, business, or simply your family at home, this book is for you.

Must read for coaches!
This is a must read for coaches and teammates. We live in a world where people expect instant success and when it doesn’t happen negativity sets in. This book promotes positivity and gives strategies to create a culture where it can exist and success can happen. I was fortunate to be a part of the launch team for this book. We have hung quotes from the book up in our locker room and discussed them with our players and I encourage you to do the same. This book will change you and your team!

useful book on the traits of winning teams and how to grow them
A team is not really a team unless it has certain characteristics- if it does not have these it will be just a collection of individuals, often pulling in different directions. This book deals with how to energize a team and take them to better performance- it is not a hard read, and sets out the principles really well. The need for team work is well established in the military and in business, Every possible aspect of taking a team to winning performance is succinctly set out in this book with many anecdotes to illustrate the principles. I would recommend it to any team leader and members who want to achieve more from a real team. the point the author makes is that real team individuals are not pursuing their own goals, but the team goals, and the book deals with how to take a team from that position to a team whose performance is great. The real like examples are short and sharp and are all drawn from real life examples with real recognizable people and examples
