Ergonomic Memory Foam Backrest Cushion - Lunbar Support for Lower Back Pain Relief - Ideal Portable Orthopedic Seat Pillow for Car and Computer/Office Desk Chair

Context: I purchased this product because I have complex scoliotic curvature that gives me a substantial amount of low-back strain leading to pain in my lower- to mid-back (up to about T12). Consequently, a good lumbar cushion is an important part of getting through my day. This particular purchase was for use while driving. My overall impression of the product is that it's likely not a bad choice for the average person, perhaps especially following acute lower back pain. It does not, however, seem especially suitable for more intense cases.Here's a breakdown of central features:Breathability - I definitely agree that the mesh covering is breathable. I purchased this during the summer, so breathability was key to not stepping out of the car with the lower half of my shirt sweaty. In that sense, it's quite comfortable.Countour and Balance - I should qualify that I've used high-quality lumbar cushions before, so I struggle to write off my difficulties with this feature to the specific condition of my spine. It's not a bad contour compared to other low-cost cushions on the market. But definitely wouldn't consider it anything special. It has a vertically symmetrical design, which seems to underperform many of the cushions that consider the changing rate of curvature as the spine rises. Very average in this respect.Memory Foam - This was probably the weakest point of the product to me. Obviously, I can only speak from my experience with the product. That granted, if this is "high-density memory foam", I have to wonder what the threshold for "high-density" could possibly be. This really kills much of the support for the product. If you're lower back is pretty strong and you just need a slightly support, this might work well (which is why I might recommend it to healthy individuals). But there are far more supportive alternatives out there for not much more money.

I have been having a lot of back issues, resulting in the need to see a Physical Therapist, who recommended I purchase back support for use at work and when driving far distances. After much review I chose this backrest and am so glad I did. The support is wonderful, and the straps are completely adjustable, including a removable portion, allowing me to use it on any chair, whether it's in my vehicle, my home, my office, or even a friend's SUV.

This is the only back support item that worked for me after trying several. Being petite and having degenerative disc disease can make sitting in certain chairs very uncomfortable. My office chair didn't offer enough support while working in my computer. I love that it came with adjustable straps and extra ones, as I had to get a little creative in getting it to stay in place with my style of chair. I now that I have it in the perfect spot and it's wonderful! I highly recommend this item.

The zero star part: This pillow was an obvious return that the vendor, Miracle Brands, just stuffed into a box as is and shipped to me. See the Photos. The top of the box had obviously been ripped open and a rectangle (a coupon maybe?) had been cut out of the front. The cushion had a few white spots of something on it which fortunately came off with a damp cloth.The three star part: The cushion is a little narrow, and when it is all the way down to the seat in my office chair, the point of maximum support is a little too high on my back (I'm 5' 6"). It does have a nice feel; not to firm and not too soft. The two straps have length adjustment, elastic sections and quick-snap buckles so they are easy to put on and adjust with most chairs.

Your experience may vary. I was really surprised at how deep this cushion was - as a result, it wasn't comfortable in any of the office chairs I tried it with - it pushed my lumbar spine so far forward that I couldn't rest my upper back on my chair anymore. Having said that, it is a really high quality cushion, great value for the price. The outer cover is well made, has a zipper to remove for washing and the foam inside is a solid piece inside a cotton cover (not chopped up bits of foam). The straps make it easy to secure in place and it actually didn't have any weird foam off-gassing smell. I wish it had worked for me, but I gave it away.

I bought this after returning to work from back surgery. Sitting in a chair is not comfortable anymore. I put this on my chair and the support it offers is perfect. Not once has my back hurt while sitting using this! It keeps my spine in position, not allowing my back to round outward. Extremely comfortable and solid.

I use this on the seat of a light single engine aircraft that I fly. Not only does it support my back, it has the added benefit of positioning me for a better view over the front cowling. It's very comfortable and easy to attach to any seat. I also use it on my office chair at home.

I purchased this as a back support after my back surgery. I am so happy that I did. It is so comfortable, and it's great to use at home or the office. It gives me great support, and I recommend this product.
