I almost didn't purchase this because we had something similar for our little dog years ago and it was awful. It was clear, very quickly, that this is very different. Instead of a rotating, Dremel-like abrasive wheel, it has a small vibrating pad. My son (13 months) is usually good about having his nails cut but if you've ever cut a baby's nails you know that when you make them shorter, you also make them sharper. The tiny little file that comes with those useless baby care kits is a joke so you just have to deal with it and hope you don't sever a cornea. I should also mention that I am the one who cuts all our kid's nails because my wife has never recovered after drawing blood on our first child when he was a baby. The Lil Buggy comes with various pads that are more or less abrasive based upon the age of the child. If you have ever done woodworking, it basically works like a palm sander but in a very tiny way. Because of this, it's impossible to cut the skin, it would simply vibrate in response while harder surfaces, like nails, get filed down. The trimmer worked quicker than I expected and since it files and trims simultaneously, you also end up with a baby that doesn't hack up their own face, necessitating those sad hand socks to protect them. The only criticism I have is that even though it comes with pads for toddler age kids, I tried it on our older son and it takes a lot longer because their nails are larger and thicker. However, if you have an infant or very young child and you are looking for something to trim their nails that won't result in blood (either during the trimming or in the aftermath) this trimmer will solve your problem. Probably going to be our go-to baby shower gift as it's a fantastic alternative to the same old baby grooming kits that everyone has 5 of but none of them work well.

This product is perfect for little fingers and toes. With its smooth, slow and delicate motion it easily trims down the nails. My little one sits still when I use it on her because of the light vibration and sound it makes that easily keeps her attention instead of moving all around when I try and clip her nails with the clippers. This is a perfect gift for a new parent or a good addition to an already parent that is looking for an alternative way to trim their children's nails. I also really like the different pads that are made based off age and the extra ones that it comes with. It also comes with a bag that stores all the pieces and keeps them in one place.

This tool gives me confidence that I can trim my sweet grand baby's nails without hurting her. So easy to use while she's sleeping or awake. It's gentle, doesn't pinch or cut the the skin, yet still gets the job done. So easy!! This beats any baby nail trimmer out there. So glad I found this!

Awesome product! I am able to safely cut my daughters nails and she does not seem to feel anything. However, if the infant’s nails are too long you might need to cut them with a clipper first and the you use the trimmer

Literally does nothing to my son's nails. I tried all the different heads and even the roughest one did not file his nails.
