The bottle goes by faster than a paint can with how much force it blasts out, but if you're painting metal, this product works well to degrease large areas of metal before using spraying paint primer. You'll need about one 14oz can for a long shotgun/rifle barrel, so you may need 3 cans if you have a metal stock and hand guard. I believe I rubbed away a residue left over from the cleaner, but I can't recall as I used it a while back. It's way faster, easier, and non-rusting if compared to using soap and water, so I'd still suggest using this on painting projects over dish soap. You don't want moisture trapped between primer and gun parts, pitting away invisibly. My spray paint is fixed onto the barrel real good, so the primer grabbed onto the steel very well.

This is some good oil, i use it in my riding mower and it’s worked great for years now. It is a good brand and a good value for the money. I recommend using this oil.
