First of all. This steering wheel is awesome. Having purchased 3 of them let me save you some time. TLDR; I have a Model Y built 08/2023, and it takes the old steering wheel design not the new one. If the holes in your wheel are on the sides like it shows in the picture you need the old design. I purchased the steering wheel while I was awaiting delivery of my Tesla. Then as I was reading and watching videos I saw there were two different kinds. I contacted support and they said if I have a Model Y 2022 and newer I bought the wrong wheel. So I returned it and bought one for models 2022 and newer. Then my Tesla arrived. I took the wheel off. By the way, this brand comes with all the tools you need. The other brand I bought for the “newer model” had no tools and was like $100 more expensive. So I took the wheel off and as I was trying to install the new one I realized it appears Tesla went back to the old design with the airbag release holes on the side, not underneath. So I put the wheel back on, exchanged the new one, and repurchased this one that is for “older models” yea you have to take the airbag and buttons out of your existing wheel but it took me all of 20 mins to swap out. This new wheel is awesome, looks amazing and feels very high quality. I’m really impressed. Before you purchase, do yourself a favor and look at where the airbag release holes are as you might need to buy the older wheel design for your new Tesla.
