I was getting some odor coming from my drain pipe used to drain my washing machine. I inserted this plug over my drain pipe coming from the washing machine and then reinstalled it into the PVC pipe in the wall. No odors escape anymore from the drain pipe. It has also quieted down the water draining sound that I could hear before.

This solved a problem of my washing machine drain overflowing when the washer drains. MUCH less expensive than the name brand.

Helps cut down on the gurgling

Does not fit either pipe for washing machine.
