Perfect fit and super easy installation!
It plugged right into my vehicleโs factory harness โ no splicing, no guessing. Everything worked perfectly on the first try, and the wiring feels solid and well-made. The connectors are tight and weather-sealed for durability. Saved me a ton of time and money compared to having it installed professionally. Highly recommended!

This WILL work on a 2003 and 2004 (at least) wrangler.
There are a lot of low ratings of this product saying that it doesn't fit or work correctly. It is a sign of weakness, but you need to read the directions for this installation. For the 2003 and 2004 jeep wrangler(at least), this is the correct product and will work if you plug it in on the PASSENGERS side and not the DRIVER side. Yes, the plug on the drivers side is visible and easy to get to, but it is the wrong one. Only one turn signal will work if it is plugged in there, and I think it was for the wrong side. I have a 2004 4 cylinder model called the 'SE", which stands for 'slow edition'. The installation is a bit tough, but this will make it easier. Remove the jug on the passengers side using a torx 30. This will give you a little more room to work. I also removed the first 4 push connectors holding on the plastic inner wheel well using a pair of cutters to pry the plastic fasteners out. Push this plastic out of the way. Reaching up on both sides of the plastic canister, you can push the connection to the passengers side easier, where you can see it and then take the 'insulation' or whatever off of the connector. It does not look easy and you will not SEE the connector, but it's there. All you need to do is disconnect the existing plug by pushing on the release and pulling it apart. Mine was rather hard to disconnect, but it will work. Plug in the new connector into each end using the grease supplied on the connections and install the grounding screw. I have a number of 3/4" lath self tapping screws that I got at the blue or orange big box store that I found easier to use than the supplied one. I screwed the grounding strap to the thin metal under the plastic canister and covered the whole harness in that plastic wiring tube that is slit along one side. Actually the small size will fit first and the next size larger will fit over it. Get a couple of zip ties and route it so it won''t get caught up on anything and you are done. The only thing you will have left over is an empty bag of grease, some packaging and the the zip ties that are absolutely useless for this application. Save them for the next project.

Jeep TJ trailer plug install.
The difficult part of making this connection is locating the plug which happens to reside behind the metal charcoal canister behind the right (passenger) rear wheel well. I removed the wheel, outer fender, inner fender and then unbolted the canister cover plate. There are additional bolts holding the canister in place (2) but once the canister is free the needed plug can be easily accessed. I could probably skip the outer fender removal and still get access. The needed plug (connection) is covered with a foam tape which must be pealed off. Once removed the plugs are separated ant the trailer connectors inserted. Overall, itโs pretty straight forward but very workable.

2000 TJ
4 stars as this does not come with a mount for the plug. Other than that, installed easily inside the rear passenger 1/4 panel. Wrote manufacturer with a question, but they never replied. Another reason for less than 5 stars. Note....the OE electrical connection is disconnected by removing the foam insulation, press a single tab on the side of the connection and pull apart. It took me some time to remove bits of foam and 20 yrs worth of mud before I found it.

Easy to Install once you find the right connection
This connector worked great once I found the right plug to install it in. It is located on the passenger side under the plastic wheel well insert on my 2003 TJ. It is not apparent when you remove the wheel well insert. However a different plug is. The plug I was looking for was pushed up between the rear quarter panel and the frame member. All I could initially see was a cable running through the wheel well and up toward the right tail light. A but of pulling released the correct plug. Then it was a simple matter of unplugging and inserting this adapter. A whole lot easier than tapping into the wiring harness with "T" splices.

Easy install Jeep TJ Great Product
PERFECT FIT and EASY INSTALL for a TJ 2002 Jeep Wrangler - this is really great engineering and product. Unbolt the rear passenger mud flap, unplug existing harness, plug in this adapter, screw ground into existing bolt (need torx 20 if bumper) and you're in business. I appreciate too that manufacturer included self-drilling screw (not necessary if using existing) and electric grease and instructions and also cap for when trailer is not being used. Fantastic product and strong recommendation for a Jeep TJ. CFO

Works great for 01 TJ - Be sure to install the ground wire.
01 Wrangler TJ Sport owner here. Install was super easy. The hardest parts were getting the plastic cover off that protects the wireing from dirt without breaking the plastic "screw" (failed), and removing the factory waterproofing tape. Installed on the drivers side. At first I didn't drill a hole for the new ground assuming the wiring was already grounded. Lights worked, kinda. The tail lights worked, but when using either turn signal both lights would blink. When hitting the brakes, the trailer lights would turn off. I started to think the reviewers that stated the TJ need a harness that goes to both sides were correct. Installed the ground wire with the provided self tapping screw directly to the frame. Presto, it worked perfectly! TL:;DR: Install the ground correctly or it won't work correctly!

Was skeptical but this worked very well on Jeep TJ
I installed this kit on my 2001 Jeep TJ. I thought a one-sided connection was not going to work, since other kits connect to both tail lights. This kit worked well. Instructions were clear. There is enough wire to the plug terminal to reach the left side of the hitch receiver. The photo shows the terminal in a little $5 bracket to the left of the receiver.

Dont bother with the other models.
I installed this on a 2004 Jeep TJ. I will start by saying that this is the better option from all the others. First and most important is that it installs into the harness for the rear passenger side tail light. So you only have to open and deal with one side. All the others require your to connect to the harnesses on both sides of the Jeep which complicates things. The installation was easy.. you just need to remove one clip from the rear of the plastic wheel well guard, the reach in a slowly pull down the harness unwrap some tape that covers the harness connection and unclip it. Then connect the cable in series with the harness. They included some grease to apply to all the contacts as well to protect them from corrosion. I'd also recommend sealing the connections with electrical tape. They also supply some rather small ties, I found that I needed much longer ones in order to do a clean install. I do suggest that after you made the connection and taped over it, that you then position the end connector in a good place and then strap it all in place and in the and fold and tie the excess wires onto the tail light harness and then install the ground wire with the supplies self tapping screw (I recommend drilling a small hole where you plan to install the screw" then covering the screw and wire with some paint or nail polish, then finally close the wheel well guard.

Easy Install
Easy straight forward install, plug and play. Only thing is I found the necessary connectors were on the drivers side not the passenger for my 2001 Jeep TJ Sport.

Easy install, just follow the instructions.
Used on 2001 Jeep Wrangler, worked as advertised with no issues. Hooked up to passenger side harness without any issues.
