Minelab GO-FIND 44 High-Power Ultra-Light Metal Detector for Adults with 10" Waterproof Coil

I'm new to metal detecting. I wanted a compact device that I can carry on my bike or keep in my car boot for when the urge to have some fun on the beach. This machine fits the bill 100%. Simple to use, found metal objects (no gold yet🤔😉) very easily on my first use. Simple controls. Happy beginner.

I bought this as a gift for the daughter. She says it works well and finds stuff easily. No Viking hoards yet. I bought this after seeing that its predecessor is a WHICH Best Buy. This one was the better, upgraded, one, and was on offer so I bought it.

Bought as new, and it arrived seemingly used. It has a foreign object stuck under the screen - myself and my partner assumed it was some sort of logo, until their support confirmed it wasn’t supposed to be there. In terms of usage, it screeches at anything and doesn’t appear to be very accurate as the categories change within millimetres. I highly doubt I’ve got iron, a coin and a ring in the same hole.As an aside, it does not come with batteries - and for something that retails for £199, that isn’t good enough for me. It feels flimsy, is very light and very plasticky. It is more of a toy than a serious bit of kit. Doesn’t appear to be value for money.

I brought a Minelab 11 which arrived promptly. My 2 sons and i were very excited to get out to use it. Unfortunately on our first use we noticed that a part of the clip holding the screen in place had come off so the screen kept falling down. I contacted the seller and provided pictures and details of the fault and they were very responsive and gave me a replacement detector.

New or old to metal detecting this detector is perfect. Loads of settings to discriminate the trash and packs into a rucksack so you can take with you on your travels.

Was really looking forward to using this metal detector, but when it arrived I was somewhat disappointed! Sadly it didn’t meet my expectations that others had put in their reviews. I found it didn’t have a great response to items deeper than around 6” (sometimes less). The casing seemed lightweight and dare I say in a nice way of a cheap item mass produced.This is a nice starter unit or for someone that’s just wanting to see if detecting is for them.
