Easy install and effective
We put these up for our daughter once we took the front off of her crib. The lock was relatively easy to install and it has been effective in preventing my daughter from leaving the room at night if she decides to get up and walk around. The install is easy, but note that you have to drill into your door frame! I don't think this was stated clearly enough in the product review. For us, doing this was worth keeping the door locked, but if you have any type of antique wood or any other reason not to damage the material around your door frame, this may not be for you.One other thing. We were low-key worried about the lock being too solid in the case of an emergency. I can say, for any adult in an emergency situation, this lock would be able to be removed by force with no problem. However, my 2 year old daughter could not force this open on her own (which is what we would prefer).

Literally brilliant
10/10 would recommend these. I put them on the double doors leading into my office. There were only a few solutions available for this door configuration on Amazon, I took my chances with this one and I have no regrets. Really easy to install and really effective in keeping my headstrong 4 year old from taking my crafting scissors to my collectibles. You have to drill into your door frame but it’s so worth it.

Fit perfect.
this fit over door perfect. just little on the flimsy side. my granddaughter just pushes door it pops off top. this would be perfect if it was metal.

Finally, a good solution
Nice alternative to all the other child locks that go after the knob/handle. Our doors have the lever-style handle and we couldn't find a good product. We tried the press and slide design by Safety 1st, but it wouldn't work on our doors, had to return. We have a 23-mo. old and another on the way. Once he got tall enough to reach the handles, he can open any door. We bought this 2-pack, one for the basement stairs and one for his bedroom (we just put on the toddler rail so he can get out of his crib on his own). The lock holds, just follow the installation instructions and keep it close to the door's opening, you will be fine. This product is a smart design; we do not mind the small post drilled into the door frame. Years from now we'll remove it and probably forget it was ever there.I only wish the wand was a little longer. I am 5'1" and it's a bit of a reach. 3-4" longer would be ideal.Note - there are lots more reviews on the single-item listing on Amazon (this is the 2-pack), if you want to read up on more feedback from consumers.

NOT Eligible for returns, even though product page says that it is.
NOT ELIGIBLE FOR RETURNS despite it clearly stating "Free Returns" at the top of the item page next to the price. This is current as of today, 9/11/2017.These items won't work on our doors without some sanding, possible chiseling, and repainting of the sanded/chiseled areas, because our bathroom doors fit too snugly in their openings. That's too much work for a cheap plastic product that may or may not last, and may or may not be suitable for us once the work is done.I saw the warning about the item being ineligible for returns in some of the reviews, but ordered it anyway because it clearly states "Free Returns" at the top of the item page. I assumed the returns issue had changed since the reviews were posted.I average about two items per week ordered from Amazon and can't remember the last time I've had a problem, but I am NOT happy about this. I'm stuck with a $15 piece of plastic junk.

A must for kids interior doors and bathrooms
These have been great for keeping our newborn and 2 year olds (now 3 and 5) out of trouble. We put these locks on their bedrooms and all the house bathrooms. (No more toys down the toilet or sinks left running). We don't use the hanging down clear plastic piece because we are not in the 4 ft range (my Aunt is, she's the only person who seems not to like these things. It gives me a chance to taunt her so it only adds to my overall rating). When it comes time to remove them permanently, there will just be one single hold drilled, very easy to patch and not noticeable anyway. The only failure to report is that when my wifes' friend crashed through the bathroom door one of the pieces broke. Can't really blame the part, she had a head full of steam and stomach (and bladder) full of wine. I knocked off 1 star from the "Durability" rating for this, but frankly I'm glad to know that if I need to get through the door in a hurry it won't be an issue for an adult.

These worked ok for about 3 weeks. I have a 5 year old, and 3 year old boys, and 2, 1 year old twin girls.....yep we are busy lol. Anyway my 3 year old brute of a boy, eventually got fed up with me locking him out of the closet so he cant get into my goodies I keep in there along with my mini fridge. Long story short, he found all he had to do was push harder to break it. He broke both the same day :( Ordering the metal version now! I suggest anyone who is going to buy these, just buy the metal versions because these are too weak. They are more expensive(29.99 for 3) and you cant buy them individually. But to me its well worth having to chase the kids out of places constantly.

Best top lock for doors if you have a determined toddler.
If you have a super smart and determined 18-30 month old toddler you need this door lock. I needed a product to keep my daughter in her room and safe when she was having a major tantrum and for bedtime since we had to put her in a regular bed at 24 months old. This gave me peace of mind that she would stay in her room for a timeout/bedtime and not escape and fall down the stairs, even with a stair gate.We also use it on our basement door and door leading to the garage. We had installed simple hook and keyhole locks at the top of our doors but she was able to rip those right out of the wall mount.Get this lock if you have a strong willed child. Takes seconds to install. Locks on the inside and outside of the door so you can easily lock it while you're in the room with your child.

Works well
It is an effective way to keep children from opening interior doors. I do wish it were made out of metal rather than soft plastic. I'm not sure whether it would keep a for closed if it were really yanked on though. Good for little children.

Works but scratches door over time.
You drill the stopper it into your door frame and set the lock on top of the door. Rubs and scratches the top of the door over time. The little plastic arm is useless, if you can’t reach the top of the door, try something else. Works great for my 2 year old, 4 or 5 year old might be able to break it. 0 stars on adhesion because...there is none.

Super easy to install!!
Honestly amazing product and would definitely recommend. Keeps kids out of rooms that we dont want them in and stops my 1 year old from opening the door in the basement and then crawling up the stairs. Didnt need to change any door handles. Super easy fix! Onlyyy thing i dont love is that sliding the lock back and forth will leave a 'scratch' mark on your door but i havent tried a magic eraser yet so i cant say for sure if its removable or not!
