This is now my 3rd Baton 4. I'm a power equipment tech (a lawnmower mechanic if you want to be a dick about it) and this light is small enough to not be cumbersome clipped into my back pocket, bright enough to illuminate any situation, only needs charged every 2 or 3 days depending on use and really, REALLY, the selling point here is not even that this a super bright, small, versatile, magnetic inspection light that is incredibly well made, it's the warranty. I bought my first baton 4 a couple of years ago and about 18 months in I noticed the charge indicator lights wouldn't always work, eventually the brightness indicator lights followed suit and both stopped working altogether. I got on their website and filled out the claim form with a couple of images of the failure in action and didn't even get a response email. Didn't get a yes. Didn't get a no. Didn't get a send it in for repair. But I honestly hadn't given it a second thought because 2 days later a brand new flashlight was in my mailbox. That sold me on this company forever. Look no further, olight is the way to go.

I’ve been carrying a NiteKing M10 in my pocket for almost 10 years. It’s worn through several Cargo pant pockets (!) but it has served me well and is really bright, using a rechargeable EBL 14500 battery. Recently, I invested in a Micro Maxpedition EDC pocket pouch and have been able to add to my EDC carry list without too much bulk in my front pocket. Having the larger NiteKing in my pocket, in addition to the pouch, is impractical. I needed a much smaller flashlight. After a lot of research, I ordered the Baton 4 (in black/blue). It was a tough call at nearly $70 for such a tiny thing but, what a tiny thing! I was really tempted by the green/gold version. That looks gorgeous. However, I know this light will get dirty and scratched over time. Black is better in the long run. . When I got the OLIGHT in my hand, it was even smaller than I’d imagined. It actually fits really well in my pouch because it is so small but I decided to keep it in my pocket as that makes it more quickly accessible, especially in the dark. I like the fact that you can easily lock the power button, with a long press when off. My NiteKing often warmed my leg before I realized it was on. I’ve already used the magnet on the end, to hold the flashlight above my bench in my unpowered garage. That feature is very useful and can even act as a retrieval magnet for dropped items when a cord is attached via the pocket clip. The double-bent pocket clip not only allows for clipping on a pocket flap, but for clipping on the peak of a cap, as a headlight. The light weight means the cap doesn’t drop down at all. . The beam intensity and battery power LED indicators on either side of the power button are not visible when your thumb is on the button. They extinguish fairly soon after a button press and often, I look, see just my thumb, remove my thumb, and they are dark. Useful though. The power button has been reduced in height from the Baton 3. It is now almost flush with the body. That actually makes it harder to locate by feel. I’ve learned to feel for the pocket clip in my grip and the button is opposite that. I’d actually prefer a more tactile button, using the lock feature to avoid accidental operation. With gloves on, that power button is really tricky to find! . I’ve not used it long enough for the temperature control to kick in and kick down the brightness when in Turbo and High. Turbo is awesome. Even high is fantastic. Incredible when you consider the size of this light. Low and medium are often enough, though I must admit I love a bright white light when out in the dark. You have more time when that man-eating animal comes for you. 😊 Moonlight mode at 0.5 lumen is handy when you don’t want to disturb your partner, though you need dark-adjusted eyes for it to be really effective. The controls are easy to learn and operate. . My photos were taken at Low, Medium, High, and Turbo. The tree is 60ft away and the garage doors, 130 feet away. The beam has a fairly large hotspot, but also a wide outer ring of light. My NiteKing has a much tighter beam and is not as bright. I guess that’s 10 years of development progress! 😉 . I do like that I can have separate spare batteries for my NiteKing and can swap them out when the current battery is dying. As I understand it, you can still swap out for commercial versions of the Baton 4 battery but you can’t use the magnetic charger and charge in the flashlight. Not sure what other features also don’t work, maybe nothing else is affected. Only the OLIGHT proprietary battery allows that. I didn’t want to spend $100 for the charging case kit. $70 was enough and I’d be carrying a bulky charging case around with me. I already have a slimline, pocketable, INUI, 10,000 mAh, power bank. . Overall, I am really pleased with the Baton 4. It’s proven well worth the money, especially since I won’t be wearing out pockets anymore! 😊

I love these lights! I bought a pair of these for me and my wife for a trip out of the country a few years back. Nice and compact. Solid feel but not heavy. I carry mine daily. The different brightness levels cover just about every need, and the quick double-press of the button to get fully brightness quickly is very nice. The moonlight map mode is great for not blowing out your night vision if you just need a quick better look at something up close, and it's easy to enable it with a long press. It took me a couple of times to learn not to do a long press again to turn it off. A second long press will cycle it up through the brightness modes, which is not ideal to have happen accidentally, but once you get used to the function it's not hard to remember to just do a short press to turn it back off. After a few years, I lost my first one and was pretty sad about it, but held off buying another one for a few weeks hoping it would turn up. They went on sale and I went for it, knowing that as soon as I bought a new one, my old one would turn up. And, of course that's exactly what happened. So now I have a spare!

There is no other light that even comes close. Bought this one for backpacking, it weighs next to nothing, but like the other o-lights I have, just pours out smooth light, has a nice power and output meter, and the battery seems to last forever. Quality and durable construction is best-in-class. I have many other o-lights for various uses, and I'll never buy another brand. I wouldn't use this for carrying every day because it only fits in about half my hand it's so small. It's round so it's not a great fit for my pockets, but what it does, it does best. It's the most compact, bright enough for any camping situation, long-lasting, and lowest weight light I could find. The battery life was far more than enough for my 3-day trip. I found the moonlight mode to be too dim compared to the other o-lights I have, so that mode isn't super useful to me. I had it set on the low setting in my tents vestibule, and it was enough light to be comfortable. The medium and high settings were great for situational awareness in the woods.

I have been carrying Olight’s for years now. I have a bit of a flashlight and knife addiction. I have a bunch of lights from Surefire, Streamlight and a few of the other higher dollar brands. The Olight’s take the cake. You get a lot for your money. If you don’t mind the fact that it’s made in China just buy one, you won’t be disappointed. My only complaint with these product is the fact you have to use a proprietary charger. Just put USB-C on everything. It would be cheaper and easier. I guess they are making a bunch of money off the cords. I know I’ve bought a few extras. Otherwise I have zero complaints. If your in law enforcement or the military and your life is in the line I’d personally probably stick with Surefire but I’ve seen some strength and durability testing on YouTube and the Olight products seem to hold up. I have one of there weapon lights and I’m planning on buying the new one for my wife’s P365X. You really can’t go wrong with Olight. The lights have a bunch of options, available in all sorts of colors and they are really bright. Olight seems to be constantly updating their products and adding new features and technology. As an EDC light the Baton is great! I’m going to order one of the premium’s with the charging case for my wife. She’s terrible with throwing stuff in the charger so it should be a nice little option. I have 6 or 7 Olight’s and I have zero complaints
