Interchangeable Crochet Hook Set, USF 5/3.75mm-J10/6mm (Pastel)

Just taught myself Tunisian crochet and I've tried a bunch of different hooks - bamboo, aluminum, etc. I got cheap hooks, and I bought some more pricey hooks too. I also got splinters from my bamboo hooks, but that's another story.As a crocheter for many decades, I know that the tools you choose can be just as important as the fiber used - and every person has to find what works for them. Furthermore, I absolutely detest plastic hooks and have had really awful experiences with them. When one of my favorite YouTube crochet designers recommended these hooks, I was really skeptical. I mean, plastic just doesn't move nicely with most yarn, right?Fast forward to today. I'm not a Tunisian expert yet, but I've managed to learn several stitches and make quite a few items. I have had these hooks for the past month and have been using them pretty much exclusively since I got them. I'm floored by how much I like these hooks. They are phenomenal, and beat the heck out of any of the other hook sets I bought - seriously! Even the super expensive stuff!!Although they say these hooks are made of plastic, this is not the cheap stuff you might see with other crochet hooks that drag on your yarn. I don't know what kind of magic plastic it's made of, but it glides over your yarn as smooth as I've ever seen. Every type of yarn I've used: acrylic, wool, cotton (even cotton - seriously!!) glided like it was on air. I am amazed at how lightweight these hooks are, so my wrists don't hurt. The colors are pleasant, the cables are easy to interchange and they haven't loosened up on me thus far.My only gripe is that these hooks are SHORT - like 4 inches. Even if you don't have a big hand, the hooks end around your palm and that can be uncomfortable. These would be perfect if the hooks were at least 6" long. But if you have the extension cable, it is totally doable.I was so prepared to hate these things, and say "Meh - plastic hooks suck" - but I am in love with these things. They are well worth the extra money over the cheap bamboo versions out there if you enjoy the Tunisian crochet craft and want to do more than just one or two items. I recommend them lots!

I was so excited about getting these, as soon as I got the text message that they'd been delivered, I ran straight to the mailbox. I couldn't swing $50-$80 for the larger Denise package. I bought the pastels, they are smaller than I expected, and they're plastic. The colors are so pretty (they happen to be my favorite colors), and the size and material really doesn't bother me.I have 4 WIPS (I carve out a schedule to work on all of them), and today's project wasn't a tunisian day, but I still ripped the package open, chose the 4.5mm hook and used it. I am pleased as punch with these hooks! They are flexable, and gives the right amount of slide of the yarn. The connectors are easy to use. They made a strong, tight, smooth connection, and they're flexible.Of course I would recommend this product to others! They are a nice inexpensive option to the larger package of Denise afghan hooks.

I have been waiting to purchase these hooks for a long time. When I received enough credits to buy them, I didn't hesitate. I'm extremely happy with this order. The hooks are the right length for my short fingers and the weight of the hooks are excellent. I have a set of Denise Knitting Needles in my stash and these hooks round out my collection. I can't wait to start a tunisian project.

The media could not be loaded.  These hooks are cute! I wish the little case was not plastic, but I understand these are the cheaper set and the company does have nicer cases for sale. Still, the plastic makes me sad even though it is nostalgic of glitter gel pen sets from my childhood :)I’m curious to see how they hold up over time... I have only used them a couple days so far. They seem like a great place to start for trying interchangeable hooks. This is my first time using these kind of hooks and so far I’m pretty happy with them. I have been crocheting a long time, but just recently got into Tunisian crochet.I’m not sure I really like the feel of the plastic in my hands, but it is lightweight and very smooth and easy to pull through. I also like the in line shape of the hooks. Different hooks can be good for different yarn, but generally I prefer a sharp edge, pointy, in line hook. You have to find what works best for you, though. Most of my other crochet hooks are aluminum.

I like how they are smooth and work well, my chief complaint is that the hooks are too short and make my hands hurt. It means that I cannot crochet as long. I hope they take this advice and create longer hooks. I do not think I’ll keep these hooks because of that and I’ll be looking for something like these again but longer hooks for comfort

Having very difficult time using my regular long metal afghan/Tunisian hooks after several surgeries to shoulder/head/neck, needed to try something new to finish WIP for son from last several years. This set has literally set me free with Tunisian crochet! Was skeptical about comfort and size of actual hook, very easy to use! Love the cable, have not had any issues with it getting stuck in work--slides nice and easy through work. Hook is shorter than standard but very manageable, and comfortable. Only thing I would change, include a longer cable with set instead of shorter ones--only use longest that comes with set. I can now work on Tunisian project every day without severe pain. Highly recommend! For the price, it is worth taking the chance if you are having difficulty with longer hooks. Very transportable too.

I love Tunisian crochet, but hate the long straight metal hooks. My first set of hooks are bamboo. Cords didn’t detach and are too long. So I decided to splurge. I LOVE THESE HOOKS. Although plastic, I find them sturdy. And I love that I can change the cables.
