I have fed Hikari for over 20 years. Koi have always greedily fed and thrived. This formula is very very effective for colder water temps.

This fish food is a great buy on Amazon and my fish love it. The ingredients are healthy for them with wheat germ being the first ingredient. I wont give my little guys anything but the best.

These pellets have garlic which is toxic to turtles

I was looking for a food that wasn't too big for my huge koi. They like it a little smaller. This was a food that was recommended by koi enthusiasts. It looks good as far as color there is a but not as bad as my other food I had. So I think for the health of my babies this was a good choice for my money.

When water temp is below 50 degrees, feed this product to facilitate digestion by koi. Like everything else that I purchase, the price has risen reflecting the inflation gripping our country.

Yes my koi are spoiled. Hikari forms the backbone of my feeding regimen. Cooler temps mean it's time for some easy to digest wheat koi pellets. If you look at the other Hikari Koi foods you will find my reviews on them as well. I use small pellets, and medium. Some of my koi tripled in size since I got them back in March/April, roughly 9 months ago. I keep a temperature gauge in the pond so I know when and what to feed. Overfeeding when it's cool can kill your fish. They cannot digest the fats they could back when it was in the 80's. I've also dropped back to only a couple feedings a day now and soon, only once.

I bought these for my turtle. If you mix 25% wheat germ and then 25% turtle pellet, it is supposed to help them shed. The turtle likes the pellets (and so do the goldfish). The uneaten pellets do not dissolve and dirty the water like cheaper pellets do!
