SD Card MERCEDES GARMIN MAP PILOT Europe 2018 - STAR2 - A2139063605

I've spent ages looking for a replacement up to date SD SatNav card and I've not found it that easy to identify exactly what part I needed. Unsurprisingly these cards are eye watereringly expensive from MB hence a £40 ish card that claims to be an original part was very attractive. But here's the thing .... the card does work and it does have the most up to date maps and software on it but it doesn't work with the traffic information system. The car reports 'no active subscription' when using this card even though the traffic info works fine using my original MB card. I incorrectly assumed that the traffic info was tied to the car but it appears that there's some sort of licence type file held on the SD card hence a new SD card disables the service. I took the new card to my MB dealer with a view to having my existing traffic info licence transferred to the new card but the dealer refused claiming that the card was a non original part. I'm not saying that the card is definitely a fake because my MB dealer were vague about what made them think this but regardless, they refused point blank to help me on the basis that the card isn't from a Merc dealer. So for me this card isn't really any good because I lose the traffic info service and there doesn't seem to be a way of getting it working. If though, you're not bothered about traffic info or your subscription has already lapsed then this card is a bargain and much, much cheaper than the MB dealers.

I won’t return this as once loaded message says it can only be used in this vehicle. Description on web says (Europe) where mine just say Great Britain. New roads still not on maps which I find annoying as was the reason to update. How long does Garmin take to update their maps. I think I’ll run my TomTom alongside it or forget Garmin altogether!

Unfortunately I didn't check on compatibility for my vehicle therefore unable to use. So I can't really pass comment only that I received it in good time and was packed very well.My fault entirely.

Excellent service, quick delivery and received within 48 hours of ordering thank you. Installed in a Merc C Class 2015 plate and works perfectly- easy to install, registered fine and no probs.

Maps for the areas I wanted are no better than the 3 yr old SD the car came with and the Traffic warnings do not work now ( which I was aware would happen)Problem is with Garmin, not the seller. Product was as advertised.

Product was just as described and very easy to install. Popped it into the SD card slot and followed the on screen instructions. It was ready to go in minutes.

I bought this (Star 2) for a 2015 C-class: it’s incredibly easy to install (it just goes in to the sd slot), and works as expected. I’ve given it five stars because of this, but Garmin navigation really isn’t the best and for longer, complex journeys I’ll probably still end up using Google maps on the phone.
