These filter pads work great. The directions say to use it inside a filter but we just drop them straight into the aquarium. In 4 or 5 days they have absorbed all kinds of bad stuff and turn color. These are chemical filters and just need to be in contact with the water to work. And they do work. Our 70 gallon freshwater tank has a heavy fish load and using these filter pads cuts down on water changes a lot. I highly recommend using them. Even if your water looks clean you’ll be surprised at how fast these filters turn color.

These are the best filters. I put two at a time in my filter system because I'm lazy about changing the water and this keeps the water healthy.

This filter media is the best on the market for removing contaminates from your fish tank. I use these filters in my saltwater canister filter and the water is crystal clear. I also use these filters in my quarantine tank to remove any medication that is used to treat fish.

Excellent to have around in case of emergency; to remove toxins or medications from tanks. I only use when needed, which isn't too often thank goodness.

This product works well, the major issue that this stuff faces is the fact that the manufacturer soaks the pads in a way that the "resin" is never properly dispersed throughout the pads. There are areas that are very light and others where the resin is so thick that the stuff really prohibits the proper absorption of liquified waste.Buy if you love when a product is actually manufactured with care, apparently the quality control is very very minimal and causes this situation way too frequently. I would say a box of 12, the average decent pad is about 6 out of the 12 pieces. When spending that much per pad, this is a poor average. When the pads are well made, you cannot beat it for absorption of waste that virtually no other pad can do for you.
