My $500 Amazon kitchen makeover
I am so incredibly happy with how my stupidly cheap kitchen makeover turned out. Literally everything was purchased on Amazon, and I did it all myself on random weekends while very pregnant (safely, of course). If I could do it, you can, too! The whole thing (minus the kitchen gadgets--just the makeover) cost around $500 and was chosen for cost, looks, and simplicity of application (very pregnant, very impatient). I'm attaching the before and after images, and I'll talk about the individual part relevant to this review. Here is the list of all remodeling purchases: 1. General Finishes Antique White Milk Paint, Gallon + General Finishes Water Based High Performance Polyurethane Top Coat Semi-Gloss Gallon 2. d-c-fix 346-0478 Decorative Self-Adhesive Film, Rustic, 17.71" x78" Roll 3. Achim Home Furnishings VFP2.0SS40 Tivoli II Achim Home Imports Silver Spruce 6" x 36" Self Adhesive Vinyl Floor Planks Planks/60 Square Feet, 40 Pack, Piece 6. Brilliant Evolution BRRC135 Wireless LED Puck Light 6 Pack With Remote Control - Operates On 3 AA Batteries - Kitchen Under Cabinet Lighting This flooring turned out SO MUCH better than I anticipated. We were always intending to get bamboo flooring in the kitchen, but never got around to it. The biggest hurdle, and I think a lot of other reviewers were in the same boat, is that our kitchen floor is very uneven. Laying actual vinyl blanks, or bamboo, or pretty much anything else, wouldn't work without demolishing existing tile and evening out the floor (there is a noticeable 'hill' right in the middle between the kitchen and the dining area, so it'd be quite an undertaking). Since we were clearly never going to get to it, and since the tile was eating away at my pregnant nesting soul, I picked this. I chose this color simply because it was the cheapest of all Achim offerings (remember, we wanted bamboo). It was such a good price, I didn't even feel bad, and figured the color would grow on us, if only because of all the left-over cash for other fine things in life. I also ordered some floor glue because everyone else seemed to. I didn't read too much about it, just got whatever everyone else seemed to be getting (frequently purchased with). The prep work for existing tile was half-heartedly mopping the floor and scrubbing the baseboards because they were filthy. NOTE: I did not fill in the existing grout lines. The flooring did sag a little into the lines, exactly as I would expect. I actually bought another set of this exact floor to go over the existing floor, which I also hope will better insulate it, and go over imperfections caused by my impatience in some areas (slight gaps) and the glue situation described below. I laid the glue down per instructions. It's one of those soft-setting types, so it wasn't going to harden. As I laid the floor, no matter how thinly I spread the glue, and no matter how hard I tried to not step on the tiles I laid down, the glue kept seeping through the laid planks and getting everywhere. The tiles also kept shifting ever so slightly, because of the gooey mess underneath. Once I got out of the dining nook and into the kitchen, I gave up and just laid the tiles down with no additional glue--just the adhesive they came with. What's the worst that could happen? Turns out, I still don't know, because that worked so much better. No weird glue goo coming through, no shifting, it was perfect. My only issue was for the area under the fridge and the stove, which was... oily? I scrubbed it with all kinds of degreasers, but it was still slippery and weird. I just laid the tile and hoped for the best. It definitely did shift under the fridge (not the stove), so the second layer I intend to lay down will have fixed this gaffe, and I also got two types of multi-purpose floor super glue, so maybe that'll help too. The color itself looks great with stainless steel appliances. I have absolutely no complaints. It's been down for a few months with hyperactive dogs and a lot of foot traffic, and the planks look like new. Every possible downside is our fault as outlined. Great choice all around. If my floor wasn't all kinds of warped, I may have considered a more hardy type of flooring, but after all's been said and done, I'm not even sure that'd be worth it. My kitchen makeover with the floor cost almost nothing!

Easy to use
These planks are great! I had a small project to do and they were so easy to use, no trouble at all with the adhesive. And they cut pretty easily with a box cutter, too, which made it so handy. The color is nice, they are a bit shiny, but they have some depth. I got mahogany, which looks very serene.

A fraction of the cost of a real wood wall!
In my opinion, this is a 5 star product - however, I gave this particular color 4 stars because of the small issue I describe below. We used these laminate panels to create a faux “wood” wall for a fraction of the cost and work of real wood panels! These panels seem to be holding to the wall well, and were easy to cut and install after a small learning curve. We purchased 3 colors for this project: “Driftwood,” “Mahogany,” and “Spruce Silver.” We let them sit at room temperature for a week before installing them to account for any shrinkage. We also purchased 2 tubes of liquid nails + a small nail/staple gun ($30 at Walmart) for this project based on other reviews that explain the weight of the panels can’t support themselves on a vertical surface like this. We checked our stud finder with a panel on the wall beforehand since we knew we would also be mounting the TV and had no issues detecting the studs or electrical wiring. We found that cutting the panels was simple when done with a basic utility knife after making 1 or 2 cuts on the patterned side and bending the panel at the cut. We chose to do a repeating, 2 row pattern because it was easier to keep track of which panels to do next and we wanted to make sure we used a fairly even amount of each color. We applied the panels to the wall with 1 swipe of the liquid nails on the back + 1 of the small nails in each corner and seem to be having no issues with the panels falling. ...I will say though that the Spruce Silver panels seem to “bow” out in the middle (it’s not noticeable at all unless you walk up to the wall and press on the panels), so we will probably go in and put an extra nail or 2 in those panels this weekend. The Mahogany and Driftwood panels seem to be slightly better quality than the Spruce Silver panels (the backing was harder to peel off of those, the adhesive seems to be stronger, and they also seem more solidly stuck to the wall,) but overall these are all a great product and I will definitely use the remaining boxes I purchased elsewhere in our home. For reference, our wall is 114”W x 98.5”H, and we used 6 1/2 boxes to cover the entire wall - 2 1/2 boxes of the Driftwood, and 2 boxes each of the Spruce Silver and Mahogany. The whole project start to finish took about 3-3.5 hours with an extended break somewhere in the middle :) I am SO pleased with the results, it looks as good if not better than real wood walls I’ve seen!

Great for kitchen and more
Used this in the kitchen, an area that we were told years ago is one of two places where real wood floors shouldn't go (the other being the bathroom). We both love the results. We found the adhesive to work really well overall. The rustic oak color is in a similar tonal family as the real red oak floors in the rest of the house and so exactly what we were looking for. My husband did the majority of install work over the course of a week around work. This also included most of the "finishing touches" such as staining and cutting a separately purchased (Home Depot) wooden threshold for where the kitchen floor meets the living room floor, filling in any minor gaps with wood filler and cutting near the edges of the room and around awkward areas near the fridge and stove. Those types of spaces are mainly the only places where we added a little liquid nails to ensure the pieces stayed in place--all set! We also liked the tip to use the edge of one of the boards as a straight edge, vs. scoring with a ruler. Previous to purchasing this product I guess we were reluctant to try a non-wood product and weren't sure what the final results would look like but this flooring has changed our minds. It looks better than the real wood flooring in the house which is beginning to show wear. It has a nice texture. The floors are standing up very well to a lot of foot and paw traffic, food and water spills and heavy equipment frequently being transported across them. The instructions were easy to follow and there's a lot of online help and examples, including YouTube videos if you take a look. Now that we've finished the install of this beautiful flooring as part of a larger "Poor Man's Kitchen Makeover", we likely will be using this in our "Poor Man's Bathroom Makeover" later this year. Highly recommend this product......UPDATE OCT. 2015: We just finished the bathroom as planned (pics attached). Very happy with this product.

Blown away by the quality!
I AM SO IN LOVE WITH THESE FLOORS!! And yes, I absolutely had to write that in all caps!! They look and feeeeeel like REAL WOOD!! My man installed them in our fifth wheel that we’re renovating. They’re the EASIEST FLOORS IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD TO INSTALL!! I did purchase an additional floor adhesive because my house in on wheels so I wanted it to be super sticky. I achieved that with the additional floor adhesive. Once installed, the floors are super easy to clean and keep clean. The color is FIRE!!! I am obsessed with these floors and I will DEFINITELY be buying this brand of flooring again for future renovation projects. 10/10 or 5⭐️ I highly recommend these amazing floors!! The best part? I bought 4 packets of 40 all from the Amazon warehouse in “used-good” condition. I saved $80 by purchasing all the floor in used condition. When the “used” floor arrived, it looked like they’d never even been opened before. They looked brand new. I took a chance by ordering them used and it FULLY PAID OFF!! I AM A SUPER DUPER HAPPY AMAZON CUSTOMER!!! Best value for money EVER!! I could go on and on about these floors. They are that amazing. Highly, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! You will not be disappointed!!✌️

Easy to put down, looks great, however planks come up in a month in heavy traffic areas
Before you start laying this tile make sure you have your foundation clean!! I can't stress that enough. When we did our kitchen floor (concrete slab) we removed all the mastic, washed with a good degreaser (Dawn liquid soap) and right before we would lay a plank cleaned again with alcohol. I did have two spots where the tile had ended before we completed the flooring (took a couple of days for us) that started coming up because I kept running my power wheelchair over them, took a little Dap vinyl mastic and sealed them back down. Have not seen anything like that again. It's a shame they raised the price, found the same item much cheaper at another place and bought 20 4x10 cases to finish my place. LT UPDATE: Well I was wondering if anyone else has run into these tiles not staying down on concrete slab foundations. I had to pull up most of the heavy traffic areas because the ends ends would not stay down. After pulling them up I noticed the spray on adhesive on the tile was spotty at best. I checked the concrete and saw the same pattern of glue streaks left by removing the planks. I reread the instructions just to make sure I didn't miss anything. If you want to add mastic before laying these make sure the mastic is for LVP and/or LVT otherwise it won't set, just stays soft. This should have been an easy install, not sure if I want to use their products or not. UPDATE 1/19/19 Well I doesn't seem to matter what glue you try to use because these planks do not stay down, usually takes a couple of weeks and they start poping up all over. I've taken them out and bought a different tile, redid the cleaning of the concrete floor, set down the 12x24 peel and stick tile with no issue. Yes I did try LVT/LVP adhesive, even used #M 90 contact cement and the ends keep poping back up. I gave up , I 'll sell the rest on Craigslist...lol. This stuff is very nice looking but is what we call "pretty junk" not good for anything.

Easy to Install, Modern look - Poor Adhesive Quality
I used about six boxes of this flooring when renovating a small Class C motorhome. It's a very nice looking product and seems to be good quality. Take care that you do not "ding" the corners of each plank before installing; this stuff is sturdy, but the corners are vulnerable until you get it installed securely. (I would have probably given five stars on my review, except that a few boxes looked like they were beat up pretty good at the warehouse or during shipping.) *Note: I originally gave this product a 4-star rating, but I've had a lot of trouble over the past year due to weakening adhesive. Many of the tiles are starting to shift, and the ends are starting to look pretty shabby (this happens because the ends lift up and get kicked by feet/shoes). I will try to glue them back down, just so they're not a total loss, but I'm not very happy with the longevity of this product.

Used it to line my kitchen and bathroom cabinets
I bought a similar product at Home Depot but they no longer carry this type of product. I don't use this as flooring. Instead, I line the bottom of my cabinets and any shelves along with with them. I got that idea from my sister many years ago when she first moved into her house, except she used the peel and stick vinyl tiles instead of these planks. Why use this in your cabinets? It's great, because if you have any spills in your cabinets, you can just take a wet or dry rag and wipe it clean. It's an easy, low maintenance and long lasting solution for your cabinets. Contact paper just scratches and peels off, and you can feel all the weird bumps through the contact paper. Plus, this looks like wood, so if you find the color that matches your cabinetry, no one will even notice that it's vinyl peel and stick flooring inside your cabinets. Not long after installing these under my bathroom cabinets, I decided to re-stain the cabinets (using General Finishes gel stain), and I wondered if the vinyl planks could be stained as well, I tried it, and it worked perfectly. So now my cabinets and the inside bottoms match exactly. And, if you have any water damage from leaky drains under your sink like I did under my kitchen sink, this will stand up much better than unfinished wood or cheap laminate that you usually get under your kitchen cabinet. To install these, I just cleaned out my cabinets, measured the space and the planks, scored the plank with a utility knife, and broke it along the scoring line and applied it. It's super tacky, so it will definitely stay in place. Be sure to score and cut the planks before you remove the paper backing, or you'll have no fingerprints left by the end of your project. All of my bathroom and kitchen cabinets now have these, and I couldn't be happier!
