Q: How does the start signal get passed to the car’s system? Is it a simple relay contact which closes, or something more sophisticated?

Hi the start signal is a simple connect with your igniton starter wire and give signal to let the car to be started and not so sophisticated. Please pay attention to following points before you buy it: 1. Read the item product description about features of it carefully to see if which just the one you are looking for 2. If there is a chip immobilizer in your car OEM key fob, you need to have an extra key & also need to buy an extra bypass module in order to make the kits working well. Here is the bypass module you may take a consideration: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NSLPBG7 or https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MEHBVIC and you can buy it with the alarm together if you need. You can also buy other universal bypass module like dball2，791 or 556u etc to work with this item, just properly install it will be OK. 3. Please note that this is not a plug & play item and you need to connect all the necessary wires of it. Due to complexity of installation of this item, which required to be installed by a professional car alarm installer or trained alarm installer, please check if you can find one or not before purchasing. Q: Could you program a new rfid tag to work with this system, if so how?

Hi,yes,you can program a new rfid tag. In disarm status,continue to press the programming switch 4 times and keep holding on the programming switch at the fourth time pressing,the control module will beep 3 times and that mean the device is entering into programming status.Put the 1st rfid tag close to(about 2-5cm) the black loop antenna control module beeps "di" once then take away the 1st rfid tag,that means the first tag is programmed successfully. Repeat same operation to do programming on all other tags. Once you finish all the tags programming,release the pressing on the programming switch. The device can program 4 rfid tags maximum. Please study the wiring diagram carefully and also install the responder loop wire in the right place.
