Tried this Ceylon cinnamon powder because we use a lot of it daily and needed more than the 2-oz bottle that my usual cinnamon provided, so I switched to this brand. I buy this in bulk and use it on so much! This is a very versitile spice. Not all ceylon is the same. It depends on the grade and location it is harvested from. This ceylon is from the inner bark. It has a mild taste. I love spicy food so it is kind of mild to me. That said there are special properties in genuine ceylon that make it healthier than the other types. From the standpoint of health it is shown in studies to help with health in terms of blood sugar levels and it has fiber. It really is a great addition to foods. On top of that there are other uses for it. It can be sprinkled on plant soil to freshen it and keep down insects or fungal problems with the soil. I have had various varieties of ceylon and can tell the difference in the taste from brand to brand. I am not certain where they source it from but they clearly state they are using the inner bark. The bark of ceylon is lighter colored than the other varieties. It also tends to have a different thickness or texture if you get the sticks. This is a must have for any serious herbalists or culinary artists. It also is great for some house plants to condition the top of the soil.
