Pressure Cooking Made Easy Review: A Great Cook Book for Learning to Use a Pressure Cooker - This book was not written specifically for the Instant Pot which is the specific pressure cooker I have but even though I am a total beginner in using a pressure cooker, this book makes every recipe clear and straightforward. Things I like about it: It has excellent pictures of the result of almost every recipe. Each recipe follows the same pattern. On the left side of each page is the Shopping List. On the right of each page is a clear numbered step by step explanation of what to do next. In the bottom left-hand corner of each recipe page, there is an extra paragraph about something helpful. These are called different things: Play it Safe, Make It a Meal, Make it Faster are three examples. At the back of this book is a very helpful "Cook Times Reference". Each section has the same headings: Type, Size, Liquid, Time, Temp{erature}, Release, Frozen. So, for example, if I wanted to pressure cook sausages, they can be any size, the liquid I use should cover them, the time should be set for 10 minutes, the temperature set high, The release is Quick {this is clearly explained in the book,--I found it helpful to put a paperclip in the page where the different releases are explained-} and if my sausages were frozen, I would add 7 more minutes to my time. The next thing I am going to pressure cook will be a whole chicken. The instructions are for a chicken between 2-3 pounds, I will add 2/3ds of a cup of liquid, set the timer for 8 minutes, and the temperature on high, and release the pressure with the Quick setting. The frozen column says N/A! Some recipes: Tangerine Cheesecake Apple Cranberry Chutney Spiced Rice Pilaf Chicken {Breasts} with Stewed Cherry Tomatoes Tangy Lentil Salad {delicious!} The Best Ever Macaroni and Cheese Tender Poached Salmon I highly recommend this book. Not only am I now feeling very comfortable with my pressure cooker, but all the recipes I have tried so far have been both easy to make and tasteโ good. Review: The best cookbook I own!! - Buy this book! Iโve had this book for a few years now and have bought several copies for friends. Every recipe Iโve tried has been very good, some even amazing. The directions are simple, the print is very readable, the pictures are helpful. Honestly, itโs great. ( The index could be better organized, but thatโs a tiny, tiny thing.)

It's a favorite on a Facebook page I frequent
I'm enjoying it so far. I debated on this one for awhile. I'm on a number of FB cooking pages where this book is mentioned quite often. There are 65,000 members on this page, so the reviews are mostly favorable, along with some good criticism. There were a few comments that the recipes were too processed, and used too many fake foods. That was my deterrent. BUT, I found that NOT to be true, in my opinion. I saw the use of sugar (which I omit); and Velveeta mentioned only once (in the mac n cheese recipe), which was only a small amount, and can be omitted, or substituted. Other than that, I didn't find any processed ingredients, or any ingredients you certainly couldn't choose to omit or substitute. Many of the people mentioned their favorite recipes and I'm trying to attempt those first. What I really love about this cookbook is the ease of use: 1) The nice large, bold print on white paper; with double spacing - for ease of reading 2) The tabs at the top - like index cards to show the time, temperature and number of servings 3) The great photographs 4) The numbered; double-spaced; and highlighted instructions 5) The Note at the bottom of each recipe The recipes are simple; family-friendly and easy to modify. A few comments on the FB page said they felt the recipes were 'bland' and 'needed something'. Well, if you're a person who loves to cook, you will naturally want to tweak most recipes to your own liking anyway, so that didn't bother me. Many said they took their cookbook to a place like Kinkos or Staples and had the bind cut off and spiral bound. At some point, I would like to do that as I can see I will use this pretty often.

A Fantastic Pressure Cooker Cookbook - Perfect for the Instant Pot - Great for Vegetarians!
This is an absolutely awesome pressure cooker cookbook! While it can be used with any pressure cooker (stovetop or electric), the recipes are written specifically including instructions for electric pressure cookers, meaning that the recipes are incredibly easy to make in my new Instant Pot! ( Instant Pot Multi-Functional Pressure Cooker ) I also love that even though this is not a vegetarian cookbook, there are plenty of great recipes for both vegetarians and vegans - toasted walnut hummus, corn off the cob chowder, and taco dip to name a few just from the first section! (For the taco dip you need to sub vegetarian grounds for the ground beef.) Speaking of that first section, don't let the chapter name, "Soups", throw you off - because that's where you'll find the hummus and taco dip too. :-) Next (again, as a vegetarian with vegan rising), I just skipped the meat and seafood sections and went straight to the pasta (butternut squash risotto!), vegetables & sides ('the best brussels sprouts'!), and dessert sections (ohmygosh, the desserts! Brownies, banana flan, peanut butter cheesecake!). There is also a "lighter" section, which is basically, well, 'lighter' things of all types, including a *lovely* eggplant dip, minestrone soup (not sure why that's not in the 'soup' section) and poached pears (dessert!). Seriously, whether you are new to pressure cooking or an old hand at it, and whether you are vegetarian or vegan, or a carnivore, this is a *fantastic* book! Wonderful, easy to read and follow recipes, for wonderful dishes from your pressure cooker!

Kindle version is HORRIBLY formatted. Recipes and print book are EXCELLENT.
I had the opportunity to browse the paper book. After seeing more than 20 recipes that sounded delicious that I wanted to try, I bought the Kindle version. I love having all my cookbooks on my kindle, at my finger tips. No book to keep open just a screen set not to time out. <grin> Unfortunately the kindle version is horribly formatted for the following reasons: there aren't any page breaks between recipes. I had one recipe title at the bottom of one page, the recipe mostly on the next page and the final note and picture of the recipe on the 3rd page. Who puts the picture AFTER a recipe. Another page had a picture of a Cheesy Chicken Rice broccoli bake but below it was a recipe of Sweet Onion Terriyaki Chicken. Why? Because the kindle version has the pictures AFTER the recipe. If I am going to browse a kindle cookbook, I want it to feel like the printed cookbook: 1 recipe per page, title of the recipe at the top of the page, picture and then the recipe to follow, etc. The lack of formatting bugged me so I returned the kindle version. I am sad because this looks like a delicious collection of pressure cooker recipes (I own an Instant Pot and love it!). Oh, for what it is worth, we tried the Salsa Stewed Beef and Rice - YUMMY - YUMMO - DELISH! Seriously, most of the recipes look fantastic but gracious, publisher, fix the Kindle version, please and I would love to buy it for my Kindle again (really, contact me after fixing it and I will HAPPILY change or remove my review). Happy eating.

A single mom's best friend
I love to cook and entertain, and feel quite competent in the kitchen. I seldom pressure cook and more often slow cook. Recently I began dating a single mom with two daughters who couldn't cook. It was causing a lot of grief in her household. As a single dad of four daughters, I know that the shortest path to a child's heart is through the stomach. She really wanted to learn to cook and I took it upon myself to teach her. So I got her an instapot. I then went through my bookcase of cookbooks and grabbed this one. I wish I dusted it off years ago. For starters, it is amazingly simple and well organized. It is not intimidating. The recipe lists are simple and most recipes can be done on a tight budget, which for my friend is important. I have just been sticking to the soups and risottos for now, but have been very pleased. The meatball tortellini soup is already a house favorite. My friend (I gave her my copy and am now ordering another) is meanwhile cooking real food for her children without a lot of work and time and growing more confident by the day. Granted, there are many dishes in here I would rather cook using traditional methods, or even slow cook, but for soups or side dishes or pork dishes.... man, this is not only convenient but a fun way to cook. The recipes are simple and you can easily build on them or elevate them... just a useful book to have. I can already see three recipes I will keep on hand and cook often. Oh, and the cook charts in the back are incredibly handy!

Awesome Electric Pressure Cooker Cookbook
I searched for quite a while, on Amazon as well as in bookstores, before I finally found this pressure cooker cookbook. So many of the cookbooks out there are for the standard stovetop pressure cookers, and I wanted to make sure I got one that was specific for an electric cooker. Finally, I found this one and decided to give it a try. Wow! I'm so glad I did! This cookbook has over 100 recipes, from soups and starters all the way through to desserts. Each recipe is accompanied by a shopping list with all the necessary ingredients for that particular recipe. The recipe then gives you a step by step process of how to prepare the meal and includes specific instructions as to the setting on which the electric pressure cooker should be set.....such as "high," "brown," "sautรฉ," etc. Furthermore, each recipe includes a tip on how to make a recipe better, memorable, or just to be helpful. Moreover, adjusted cooking times are indicated in cases where one might choose to use an alternate ingredient, such as using can beans instead of dried ones. For example, in the recipe for Five Alarm Chili it tells you to soak kidney beans for 30 minutes and gives you the cooking time for making the dish with dried beans. However, the helpful tip for that recipe tells you that you can substitute 1 (15-ounce) can of kidney beans in place of the dried beans, in which case you need to reduce the cooking time to only 8 minutes on High. I use this recipe book with my Emeril Electric Pressure Cooker, and so far the cooking times for each recipe are pretty spot on. I've made a variety of dishes from this recipe book using my pressure cooker, including chili, roasts, fish, chicken, pasta, and desserts. I love this cookbook. It's the "ultimate" electric pressure cooker cookbook!

The recipes are wonderfully flavourful and easy to follow
I bought this book along with my Instant Pot IP-DUO60 purchase. I have never used a pressure cooker before and I knew I'd need help! Well, I have found it to be a fabulous book! The recipes are wonderfully flavourful and easy to follow. The book is laid out very nicely, there are no "far out" recipes or ingredients, and it is written with a friendly tone that makes you feel as if Mr. Warden is right there chatting with you about cooking. There are great hints and tips for many of the recipes and superb pictures for most of them. Even my husband has enjoyed using this book - he's become an expert at "Best Ever Macaroni and Cheese" and tonight he's going for "Kiss the Cook Baby Back Ribs". My mouth is watering already. Mr. Warden's "Easiest Ever Chicken and Dumplings" wowed my entire family with how good it tasted. "Cheeseburger Macaroni" is another favourite, and his "Chicken Noodle Soup" just nursed my teenage son through the chicken pox - with the other four of us liking it so much I had to make a second batch! Don't miss out on this kind of mealtime joy - just get the book.

Super recipes.
Great book, although measurements are in American it's easy to adapt. I've made some really tasty one pot meals. You just bung everything in and in less than 1/2 hour there's a fabulous dinner ready with all the flavours kept in. Delicious!

Love your pressure cooker love this book
Excellent book though written for the American market so some ingredients require translation to UK. But generally very good and usable recipes.

Great pictures and many comfort food recipes right up to desserts!
I haven't actually tried any of the recipes, but the book makes sense and I think the recipes will work wonderfully. In fairness, I just got the book and haven't yet had time to dive in. There is an excellent recipe for Honey Mustard Corned Beef in there that'll be my debut dish with this cookbook (nothing makes corned beef more succulent and tender than a pressure cooker). The pictures are gorgeous and plentiful and the instructions are clear - all in all, I think this book is an excellent buy and I'm very glad to have it. Later - I did make a brisket piece and disobeyed the timing in the book as I thought it too short. The book was right, I was wrong. I then read more recipes in the book and am eager to try many of them - more than I've read in other Instant Pot books. I really think this is the best IP cookbook I've seen to date, including the ones I've borrowed from my local library.

A lot of American fave's
This book is aimed at the American market but is good, Lot's of typical American faverites, I wil definately try a good few of these recipes espicially the layered Enchilada casserole & Meatloaf, will even have a go at some of the desserts :). It looks like one of my better book choices for pressure cooking.
