The shoes were torn when I received them

These are really nice volleyball shoes, especially for this price. Men's volleyball is up-and-coming in a lot of areas so men's specific-sport volleyball shoes are finally becoming more available. As an alternative you can buy basketball shoes or "court" shoe, but if you go with that option you're going to pay upwards of $100 or more. In volleyball I think you need something lighter, and you don't need the ankle support like in basketball. I typically size up in athletic shoes, so I bought these about 1/2 size larger than my son wears and they are plenty long. They are perhaps a bit narrow in the toebox, I hope that they will stretch a little as they are worn, they felt a bit snug to my son (adjusting shoelaces helped a lot) but not too uncomfortable. However, be aware that if you have had issues with shoes feeling narrow, these might bother you in the ball of the foot and the toe area. I like the look of these as well.

I have bought many Asics trainers and have been very satisfied. This one no less...comfortable and stylish.

I did not have the problem other reviewers had with the shoes digging into the back of my ankle. I did kind of want it to tie a bit higher on my ankle but that just may be because I am not used to wearing court shoes. Also, I did use these shoes for badminton and they were perfectly fine!
