Xi1 Cigar Cutter, 440C Stainless Steel Blades with Rockwell HRC 57 Rating, 54 Ring Gauge, Double Guillotine Action, Black

The cutter arrived and I unwrapped it and held it for a moment. It felt natural in the hand. The blades are extremely sharp and seem to be retaining that edge. I find myself, throughout the day, pulling it out of my pocket and flicking the button to open it. The blades slide along each other with no gap, so the only way to have a bad cut is if you don't know what you're doing and cut your stick sideways... I have used it several times and I know it will last a very long time and cut extremely well throuout its lifetime. It is very sturdy and made very well. I expected as much because the manufacturer offers a lifetime warranty on all their cutters.

This is by far the sharpest cigar cutter I've ever used and is worth every penny. When I was first starting to smoke cigars, I'd cheap out and buy the much less expensive ones. Oh...what I fool I was. xikar, though a bit pricey at times, does put out some quality products and they are well respected in the community for a reason. And by the way - even though it has an aluminum body (which is extremely light!), this thing can take some abuse. First day I got it, I was already opening beer bottles with this thing and it's held up great. Believe me, I wouldn't normally do this with a product on the first day, but I had to work with what I got and there wasn't a bottle opener around, so I had to improvise. Buy it - enough said. You won't be disappointed.

I already had a good cigar cutter but due to the design I would have to take small nibbles out of pointed head cigars until I got the cut I wanted. This cutter completely solves that problem, one cut and the job is done. The cutter is well made and feels substantial but not as heavy as my other cutter. It was also delivered timely.

I have always purchased cheap guillotine style cutters from Amazon...like three for $10, or something like that, and every cutter I used, is rickety and loose. Very low tolerances. They were all pretty much like that, so I thought that was the norm, probably because they were all cheap. After a little use, they would start to get stuck. Someone told me to just oil them, but I am very weary about adding oil to something that might transfer to something I am going to have in my mouth. Just doesn't sound like a good idea. This Xikar Xi1 has blown my mind. The tolerances are tight. Very little play It's $70, but worth every penny. This is a classic example of "you get what you pay for." It's like eating hamburger your whole life, then suddenly eating steak. If you're a vegetarian...then, it's like eating broccoli your whole life, then suddenly eating bacon. To be perfectly honest, the Xi2 work just as well as the Xi3, the only difference is in the outer case. The Xi3 is made of composite, while the Xi3 is made of aluminum, but both use 440 stainless steel for their blades. If you smoke cigars, I'm sure you've used a cheap cutter at least once in your life, just order a Xikar and return it if it does not meet your satisfaction. I think you'll end up keeping it though.

Nice, solid design. I have always gotten nice, clean cuts from this. Works well "free hand," or laying it on a table and standing cigar straight up to get a more precisely measured snip. It may only be a matter of a fraction of an ounce, but the xi2 made of fiberglass composite is probably a little lighter in the pocket.

It does what it's supposed to do, it cuts your cigar. I've always used cheap cutters and I thought I would treat myself to a nice one that would hopefully last a long time. The packaging is great and what one would expect from a high-quality item, you can proudly give this as a gift and any cigar smoker will appreciate it. One potential problem I see is the size, I typically smoke 50-54 gauge cigars, and they fit perfect in this cutter. However I have a few bigger ones in my humidor and as you can see in the included pictures, it's snug. It will do the job and "knick" the end off, but that's it. The bigger cigars in the picture are of a 60 and a 70 gauge, again both of which it will cut, but not ideal in my opinion. I deducted one star because of the tolerances of the item. For a $50 cigar cutter, I expected tight tolerances to the point of near perfection and I didn't get it. There is some wobble. Am I being nit-picky? Yes, but I bought a $50 cigar cutter so I am allowed to be picky. It works, it's nice, it would be a great gift. Would I buy it again? That depends on the longevity which only time can test. Hopefully, it lasts me decades then my opinion will improve to 5 stars perhaps.

I mean what can I say, its a XIKAR. This cutter is awesome. Its very sharp and not too light in the hand. It had a great black matte fininsh and smooth cutting action. I would expect nothing less than perfection from XIKAR and they live up to that with this cutter.

Having bought inexpensive cutters in the past that mangled my cigars, I decided to take a chance on a xikar cutter. I must say I love this cutter. It gives a superb cut every time and Ilike the ergonmic feel of it. Also have to say that the product arrived a lot quicker than I had anticipated. These are the main reasons why I'm rating this cigar cutter and vendor 5 stars.

Wie heißt es: Qualität hat seinen Preis. 70-80 Euro für einen Zigarrencutter ist eine Ansage. Die Qualität sucht seines gleichen und ist nicht mit den Billigcuttern die man hier so bekommt zu vergleichen. Xikar ist eben doch Premiumklasse. Wer es etwas günstiger mag, wählt die Variante Xi2 die ist dann halt aus Plastik statt aus Metall oder einen Cutter von Colibri. Was bringt es einem wenn man sich die teuren Zigarren mit einem billigen Cutter kaputt quetscht? Nichts. Der Cutter verdient volle 5 Sterne,

Have wanted a high quality cigar cutter to give as a gifr for a while, have read that these are the best. Sturdy design, cutting action seems solid. I thought these were made in USA but it had a sticker made in Taiwan so I guess this is a knock-off, not the real item....? Will update when the recipient of this gift tries it out
