I make a lot of burgers from mincemeat and usually either just make them in my hands or use a glass to make an even shape if i'm feeling fancy!The first option usually means I get complaints that someones burger was bigger, the second gives me a slightly grim cleaning job after.This press is nice and easy to use and gives a uniform shape and size, easy to clean and quick to use, no longer will I have to wash up meaty glasses!

I was hoping for the weather to cheer up for another barbecue as I forgot to take pictures to show you on our last one but hey we live in England!The box was perfect for our chicken and pepper kebabs that we marinated, having the scewer groves was great to slightly separate them.We did wash it in the dishwasher which I know is never usually advised but it washed fine and the lid still slots on perfectly.A great barbecue addition that you don’t realise you need until you have it. Very hand and practical.

This is a very solid and durable grill press which is made from cast iron. There is a nice weight to it but it not too heavy for most people to use. The size is 21cm x 10.5cm x 7cm, this is a great size. The wooden handle is very comfortable and looks great too.You must season the grill press before its first use and then occasionally after that, this will probably depend on how much you use it. The instructions on how to do this are on the box and it is very simple to do. The non-stick seasoned coating also means cleaning it is very quick and easy, most times a simple wipe over will do. The wooden handle should not be submerged in water for long periods of time which is understandable.This press works brilliantly at keeping the meat flat in the pan, it's great when searing steaks or cooking burgers as it means the edges don't curl up and they cook quicker and evenly. You can use this on the hob or barbecue and see great results every time.I would recommend this Masterclass Grill Press, it is a quality addition for the kitchen or barbecue, is easy to clean and produces great results, enhancing the flavours of the meats or whatever you're cooking. The price at time of review (May 2024) is £16.90, this is a great price for something of this quality, I feel sure this will last for a very long time if the maintenance (seasoning) is kept up on it. It arrives nicely boxed, so I think this would be a great gift for a foodie or anyone who loves to cook and produce great food.

Ridiculously small would return but to much hassle

I like to eat a good steak every now and then and when I do eat one I want it cooked perfectly every time.Before using this grill press I always struggled with keeping my stakes perfectly flat so that they cook evenly across the whole surface. They tend to curl up during frying and therefore not evenly cook and I would have to try and hold them down with two forks, one on each end and risk getting burned or I would have to cut it where it would curl up but this will make the juices sip out.This press solves all these problems as I can leave it on the cut of meat and it's weight will hold it down and this way my stakes will cook evenly.It ways a bit over 1 kilogram and I can leave it on the stake without necessarily having to constantly press it down.Doesn't stick and washes very well and it is also wide enough to cover the whole cut of meat.It has a lovely wooden handle which I can grip well.Super happy with the product and now my meats are excellent.

The build quality is very good and it works smoothly. Although made out of plastic, this is thick durable plastic.My only gripe is that it cannot be used without burger paper because if minced meat bits get caught up in the mechanism while being pushed out they go right into the inner tube and it's very difficult to clean this. Not a fan as meat utensils need to be kept clean between uses to prevent contamination.

This grill press is a made from just two pieces, the main part being a weighty chunk of metal and a wooden handle, simple but effective.The press needs to be seasoned first, the instructions for this are on the box, be careful when you wash the press as it does have a tendency to leave a little rust mark on whatever it's sat on to dry. Once the press has been correctly seasoned there are no longer any rust marks created.In use the press has a good sized surface area, enough to be able to press down on anything from smash burgers to full steaks. The press has enough weight to be able to leave it on top of food if you want to apply a gentle but constant pressure.Another thing to be careful of is, if the press gets hot, although the wooden handle doesn't get hot, the edges where the metal meets the wood can get hot and there is a slight risk of burns.Overall, a great press if seasoned correctly but be careful on the edges of the handle.

The media could not be loaded. Not a bad burger/pattie kit, perfect for keeping the meats and fillings well compressed. It's quite sturdy and won't suddenly crack. Wish it had a slightly wider diameter, but it's also fine as is. Recommend
