Works just as well as the ones I grew up with years ago - after cutting the grapefruit in half, it's perfect for separating the fruit segments from the membranes between them. Then the curved part of the knife is used to separate the segments from the outer skin. Perfect!

The plastic bag knife came in as well as the packaging was open. I did not buy a used one. It does work nicely tho
