Its a switch!
It's a switch! Not bait and switch, bur really, it is an on/off kind of switch, unlike those other kinds which are certainly confusing to a man like myself. I have to saw, the old one literally POPPED OFF, so I have to rate the sheerness as one, even though, really, zero stars there. I don't think they are manufactured to sheer off like mine did, but I digress. Which leads me to the next part, stretch, again, it isn't manufactured to stretch either, and this doesn't stretch my budge having to purchase one. At the end of the day, this is a an on/off switch, which, does NOT work until installed, so if you how to turn it on/off before installing, forget it, you'll break it, leading back to the zero rating for stretch and sheer. Once installed, it worked like new. I am using it for the application of a craftsman chipper/shredder. The Briggs and Stratton engine is GROSSLY overpowered for these units (well known) and WILL shake the machine to death long before you can use it for a lifetime (built in obsolescence anyone?) I picked one of these notorious units up for the whole price of free (better than cheap, yes? Thanks Red Green.) and went to trouble-shoot the issues. It rattled itself to death, literally popping off the the shut-off switch. Hence why I purchased this unit. Now, I can turn the switch and turn the unit off without having to use the gas shut-off valve I installed. Being a chipper/shredder, I kind of like the quicker "TURN IT OFF NOW!!!" than just letting it run out of fuel. I haven't lost any appendages yet, and switches like this can help keep all those human meaty bits still attached or allow medical professionals reattach said meaty bits. I value that. I value safety. And this is why I value being able to purchase an on/off switch that was made for my Briggs and Startton engine.

It worked
I had no issue with installation. The last one fell apart. My generator is about 25yrs old. The generator started and shut off like it should. I have only used it once.

Complete assembly, no soldering required. Fits in OEM hole completely.
Repaired my generator off switch just in time for Hurricane Ian. Ran for 10 days. So glad I was not pulling the plug wire with a zip tie loop anymore!

Exact replacement for mid-1990's Craftsman wood chipper
The plastic part of the switch that manages the STOP/OFF operation for my chipper broke after more than 30 years.I bought this switch after cross-referencing part numbers and this switch is an exact replacement from Briggs and Stratton and it works perfectly.
