It's a DIY project
Just be aware that you will be assembling this thing. Like me, you may be reading this and say to yourself, what's the big deal? I did, and then found myself so frustrated that I'd paid even a few dollars for this thing when I probably could have picked one up at Target and been done. You'll need to punch out the letters from a sheet of cardboard, and then thread each one onto the two strings, two holes per letter, which by the way is two separate threads twisted together so they will keep separating as you do this. Then you'll be wrapping the string around those little sticks in knots. The gold stars have no way of attaching to the sticks, so be prepared to get out your hot glue gun. I opted to just skip them by the time I reached that point. It's cute, and not bad quality, so this doesn't bother you go for it! But if you're looking for a quick and nice looking cake decoration I'd suggest something else.

WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY
Dumbest product ever. Cheap materials. Assembly required, which isn’t easy with such cheap string. A needle threader makes it slightly less infuriating, but still. Should have spent a few more dollars on a more quality product. I liked the idea of the flags, but the actual product isn’t as good as the stock photo. I’m actually quite surprised by the successful customer photos...those folks either have a lot of time on their hands or are extremely skilled in arts/crafts. If I’d have wanted to assemble my cake topper, though, I would have gone to Michael’s first.

Exactly what I hoped for
I expected to have to put it together, and i am fairly crafty, so that wasn't an issue. I was careful and it came together just fine. Was exactly what i wanted. The only issue was on MY end...as i was putting it together, my dog grabbed one of the letters and chewed (ate) it up...so we ended up with an "appy birthday" banner instead of a "happy birthday" banner. I wasn't too happy at first, but hey, ya gotta roll with it sometimes!

Waste of money and time
I love to leave positive reviews, but this product was so terrible that I had to leave a disappointing one. I was looking for a cute cake topper for my daughter's birthday. I am fine with a little assembly, but there was no way this was coming together as the guests were arriving at the restaurant. You have to punch out the letters and then reassemble them on a string which is then tied onto two sticks...We couldn't even get one letter on before the string started unraveling and after that happened then no letter could be put through the 2 holes needed (for each letter!) Very overpriced and cheaply made. Very disappointing

Cheap and time consuming!! Don’t buy!
You have to assemble this. I don’t have a problem with assembly however this is very poor quality. You will need an embroidery needle since the string will fray before you can thread it in and out of all 26 tiny holes before tying the strings to the splintered sticks. If you purchase this make time in advance to assemble and don’t be in a rush!

It doesn’t come assembled. Cheaply made.
It’s a cute idea, but doesn’t come assembled. ?? Which in the theory isn’t horrible but, The string is short and tattered on the ends. Somehow you have to string it through 26 tiny holes and then attempt to tie it around the giant toothpick. If I knew the quality of it, I wouldn’t have bought it. The edges of the letters were lifting also... probably because you have to tear them out like paper dolls.

Cute, but DIY
Super cute, but a big disappointment that you have to assemble yourself. Even threading all the mini banners with the string, which takes more time than you would think. Turned out great though! Still a good value.
