The Passion Translation: The New Testament (2nd Edition): With Psalms, Proverbs and Song of Songs

I love The Passion Translation because it so beautifully conveys God's passion for His people! Most versions of the scriptures present just the facts, but Dr. Simmons captures the emotion that surely would have surrounded the situations. The first TPT verses I heard were the 23rd Psalm read to me over the phone; it sounded like musical revelation. When I got my copy, and compared it to NIV, RSV, and others; they all said the same thing, but the language usage of TPT is wonderfully refreshing. The footnotes are a college class in themselves, yet they are easily understood; they add much understanding to the time and culture of the original writing. Dr. Simmons and his lovely wife Candice are not only accomplished writers, but are also skilled speakers and teachers. This labor of love is truly a gift to the world.

The Passion Translation is one of my favorites and really my go to.

I was at a Christian Book store and saw a copy and started to read it. Now I have been a believer for over 50 years and have literally over 300 Bibles, but this one was impressive. I felt really comfortable with this translation, so I bought this on to read on my six month road trip. Impressed!

I have never reviewed a Bible before, but I had to review this one. I read one Passion Translation passage from Psalms on a Bible app and I loved the way the words were written. They flowed into my brain and my soul. I have never had that happen. I found a copy on Amazon that has my favorite flower (peony) on its cover. I have other Bibles so I thought I was being silly buying this one, but I am so glad I did. It is like I'm reading these scriptures for the first time. I love the annotations on the page explaining why the wording was chosen with scriptural and linguistic reasoning. I have cried as I've had personal revelations from reading these passages. I was raised in a religion that twisted the Bible and have had problems reading scripture since, but the Passion Translation has healed that damage. I am reading it from Matthew to Revelation on my own time because I want to. The pages are easy to read and the peony edition is gorgeous. I keep the built in bookmark on Psalms 23.

I love the Passion Translation. It is easy to read, and yet, so deep! I love how it goes in depth into the original meanings of the Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic texts. The pages on these books are a little thin, and caused me a little difficulty reading at first. But I prayed that the Lord would make it comfortable for me to read, and after reading it for a day, my eyes got used to the text. I can read it pretty fine now. The picture I added shows the different in the page text between the individual TPT books (left) and the combined New Testament Bible (right).The Song of Songs is my favorite book in the Passion Translation. Brian Simmons translates it as a love story between Jesus and His Bride. There is a lot of in depth revelation in the footnotes that helps to understand literary symbols and homonyms (like reed and read or wait and weight) used in the Song of Songs and throughout the whole New Testament Bible. This version of the Bible is life changing. The Word is living water to your soul. Be revived. Poetry to my heart. Highly recommend.

I bought this as I heard Kevin zedai say he used this version due to it having aromatic, but it's only new testament lol iv been on King James and read both together I'm finding it nice and good to get an easy read version.However some verses I'm like where is the verse then I see it, there's alot of mans take added to the scripture...I'll see how I get on still getting used to it 25 years king James.Its a lovely look and great feel to it.

It is definitely the best translation of the Bible for me! You read it and understand it with a new fire and passion burning in your heart, the depth of each verse becomes more accessible! Of course you should read different translations as well, but go get yourself a TPT! I like the quality of the paper as well, though it's not one of the best, it's better than I thought it would be!
