Narwal Freo Z Ultra Review – A Real Game-Changer for Indian Homes
I've been using robotic vacuum cleaners since 2020 – from budget Chinese models to the so-called "premium" ones like Dreame. Unfortunately, most of them didn’t even survive a year. Dreame, in particular, was a major disappointment. Narwal Freo Z Ultra – my latest addition. Honestly, it’s on a different level. Build & Navigation: First thing you'll notice is the superior build quality. It feels solid and well-engineered. But what really blew me away is the navigation. My apartment is about 2400 sq ft, and this machine moves through it like it knows the layout better than I do! We have a kid, so the floor’s often scattered with toys – yet, the Narwal navigates with surprising ease. Hair Handling: We are a joint family of 7 people, including 4 women along with my 89-year-old grandmother. Naturally, there's hair fall. One of my biggest pain points with previous vacuums was cleaning hair from the brushes every single day. But this? It’s like magic. The way it handles human hair is just brilliant. Truly hands-free cleaning at last! The brush truly works! This is a USP for Narwal. From low models to higher end ones you will find these brushes and it just works! App & Performance: The app is feature-rich and user-friendly. The vacuum is a bit on the heavier side, but that adds to its stability during cleaning. The base station is wide but has a low height, which is great in terms of space utilization. Cons (or things to be aware of): Height: It’s slightly taller than my old Dreame L10s Ultra. As a result, it now misses cleaning under one of the beds. Not a dealbreaker, but worth mentioning. Electricity Consumption: Not exactly a con, but the dryer runs often to keep mop pads moisture-free. Since I clean in three sessions (3am, 10am, 4pm) due to house size and my experience with robotic vacuums, the dryer is working almost the whole day. I’ll track power consumption with a smart plug and update soon. The Real Challenge – Accessories & Cost: This is where it hurts. Accessories are crazy expensive in India: Floor cleaning liquid (650ml) – ₹1999 Dustbin bags – ₹800 per bag Mop pads – ₹999/pair Auto water exchange kit – ₹15–17k (ideally a pump with some plastic containers?) Honestly, this is not sustainable for the average Indian buyer. My humble suggestion to Narwal: manufacture accessories locally and bring down the price. Current pricing feels like a straight USD-to-INR conversion (x85/90), which doesn’t make sense for a growing market like ours. Customer Support – Yet to Test: With Dreame, customer support was a nightmare (pun intended). I had to tweet their CEO just to get a reply. I hope Narwal does better. If I ever face issues, I’ll update here on how their support fares. Bonus Features: Yes, it even has a microphone – so you can video call your vacuum, lol. Surprisingly, the camera quality is quite good. --- Final Verdict: If you’re tired of unreliable Chinese robot vacuums, Narwal Freo Z Ultra is a solid, dependable choice. It’s ideal for Indian homes – whether you have kids, elders, pets, or long hair all over the place. Just keep an eye on accessory costs. Overall, a very satisfying and premium experience. Hope Narwal steps up support and local pricing soon – then this would be a near-perfect package.

Not sure if this product or the Narwal support team even deserves one star.
Not sure if this product or the Narwal support team even deserves one star. I purchased two Narwal Z Ultra units, and ever since the purchase, these machines have spent more time at the service center than in my home. Issues have included water leaking from the base station, detergent not dispensing, chip temperature errors, mop retraction failures, and several other recurring problems. At the moment, one of the machines has been sitting at their service center for over a month with no resolution. The support team seems to have no idea what the actual problem is. Every time I call, they simply extend the promised timeline again. For a premium product at this price point, the experience has been extremely disappointing — both in terms of product reliability and after-sales service. My advice: avoid Narwal. Good evening, With great grief and frustration, I am writing this email regarding the unresolved “chip temperature error” issue in one of my Narwal Z Ultra units. Every time I contact your customer care team, I am repeatedly told that the repair is “under process” or that the required part is unavailable. Unfortunately, it has now been over a month that my machine has remained at your service centre without any resolution. What is even more disappointing is that your customer care representatives have been of no real help, as they continue to repeat the same scripted response without providing any actual update or timeline for resolution. Please understand that this machine is not a luxury item for us. It serves as an essential replacement for household help and has become an important part of our daily routine. Having the machine unavailable for over a month has caused significant inconvenience and frustration to my family. To make matters worse, this is not the first issue I have faced with your products. Repeated errors and breakdowns make me question whether defective units were sold to me in the first place. At this stage, it genuinely feels as though your company is more interested in selling products than providing after-sales support and customer service. I now request the following immediately: A clear update on the status of the repair. A definite timeline for when the machine will be returned. Immediate escalation of this issue to a senior authority. If this matter is not resolved within the next couple of days, I will be compelled to file a formal consumer complaint against your company for poor service, unreasonable delay, and selling unreliable products. I sincerely hope no other customer has to go through such a disappointing experience. Regards, Ashish Alexander Sent from my iPhone 17 Pro Max

Narwal Freo Z Ultra: My Game-Changer for Spotless Floors!
I’ve been using the Narwal Freo Ultra for over a month now, and it’s hands-down the best robot vacuum I’ve owned. As someone running a fashion e-commerce business in Kolkata, my home office gets cluttered with fabric swatches, packaging, and daily dust from the humid weather— this little beast handles it all effortlessly. The zero-tangling Triangular Lifting Mop system is genius; it scrubs hard-to-reach corners and edges without leaving streaks, lifting the mop 12mm over carpets to avoid any mess. Vacuuming power is insane at 8,000Pa, picking up pet hair (from my neighbor’s visits), rice grains, and even small debris from my sewing projects. The auto-detergent dispenser and self-emptying base mean I set it and forget it—perfect for my long workdays. App control is super intuitive, with real-time mapping and no-go zones that adapt to my layout. Battery lasts up to 210 minutes, covering my 1,200 sq ft apartment multiple times without recharging. It’s quiet, sleek, and the self-cleaning dock keeps everything hygienic—no more manual scrubbing! At this price, it’s a steal compared to Roomba or Roborock. If you’re tired of manual cleaning, get the Narwal Freo Ultra—your floors (and sanity) will thank you! - Review by: Mohammad Arshad

A Truly Smart Cleaning Companion!
I've been using the Narwal Z Freo for a few weeks now, and I must say—it has completely transformed how I clean my home. This is not just a robot vacuum; it’s a fully intelligent, all-in-one floor care system. One standout feature is its Freo Mode (Freo Mind), which intelligently determines how often and how thoroughly to clean based on the actual dirt level on the floor—not just a fixed schedule. That means it doesn't just clean because it's time—it cleans because the floor needs it. This smart dirt detection gives me peace of mind knowing my floors are always truly clean, not just routinely wiped. The dual water tank system ensures that clean and dirty water are kept separate, so your floors are always mopped with fresh water. Combined with its automatic mop washing and hot air drying, it eliminates manual intervention and keeps everything hygienic. The navigation system is incredibly advanced—it maps the layout with precision, avoids obstacles gracefully, and even lifts the mop when crossing rugs or carpets, so nothing gets accidentally wet. The app is user-friendly and gives full control over zones, cleaning schedules, and cleaning intensity. Plus, the robot runs quietly, making it ideal even during work-from-home hours. If you’re looking for a truly intelligent robot that adapts to your home and cleaning needs, the Narwal Z Freo with Freo Mind is a top-tier choice. It’s efficient, reliable, and surprisingly hands-free. Highly recommended!

Extremely Disappointing After-Sales Service & Faulty Replacement
We purchased the Narwal robot vacuum/mop and used it for about 8 months without major issues. After this period, the robot started showing repeated errors on the app, specifically stating that the water tank was empty even when it was completely filled. The robot stopped detecting the water tank altogether. We contacted Narwal customer support via email and were told the unit would be repaired or replaced. As instructed, we sent the robot to their service center in Ghaziabad. What we received in return was extremely disappointing. Instead of a proper replacement, they sent us an older unit of the same model, clearly used and in very poor condition. The replacement robot was dirty, had visible cracks, and looked nothing like a refurbished or quality-checked product. Worse, the replacement does not function properly at all: • Leaves water and dirt residue all over the floor • Does not clean corners properly • Overall cleaning performance is far worse than the original unit We have contacted their support team multiple times via calls and emails and have shared all proof, but there has been no proper resolution. Despite acknowledging the issue earlier, they have neither replaced the unit with a new or equivalent product nor fixed the problem. For a premium-priced robot, this level of after-sales support is unacceptable. The product itself may work initially, but if anything goes wrong, be prepared for a very frustrating experience. I would strongly advise potential buyers to consider the quality of customer service before purchasing.

Product review
I Have been using this product for more than a month and it has completely changed how I maintain my home. The vacuuming and mopping performance is excellent — it picks up fine dust and hairs easily, and the self-cleaning mop feature is a huge plus. I really like how intelligently it maps the house and avoids obstacles without getting stuck , It saves me so much time and effort on a daily basis Overall, totally worth the investment if you want a premium, hands-free cleaning experience!

Great Performance, but Service Could Be Smoother
Mopping is good, but the vacuuming is where this thing really shines! I ended up doing the setup myself because the technician was delayed, which wasn’t ideal. Overall, I’m satisfied with the buy. That said, a brand is only as good as its customer service and parts supply, so I’m hoping for a smooth experience when maintenance time rolls around. Also, there were some spots on the machine which I couldn't clean and replacement wasn't available so had to keep it

A very smart vacuum and mop robot which does a very impressive job
I wanted to use this vacuuming and mopping robot for at least a month before I wrote a review, so I really could get to know how to properly use it and how it performs. It is so easy to use. Technically, you could get started immediately once you plug in the charging station and give it some time to charge. Out of box, the only assembly is popping on the cleaning 'whiskers', slipping the mop pads on, and popping in the detergent container which is already pre-filled. For a fast start, you just push the button on top of it and if it's the first time, it will go around and map out the rooms in your home. Once mapped, you can just start him manually by pushing the button and use all the defaults set up or better yet, add the app to your phone and you can see all the settings and modes you can use. For instance, you can do regular vacuum suction or super-powerful suction. Or, for area rugs (or any rug actually), you can tell it to vacuum it, cross over it (skip it), or don't even get on it at all- side step it entirely. Each run, he's (I named him Wally) constantly updating his surroundings so your map will get better each time. He will do one room at a time and do the outside boundary first including baseboards if you want him too, then he goes back and fills it all in. He will stop on occasion to go back to his base to either recharge (although he carries a charge for at least 2 hours at full force capacity and mopping.), empty his dust tray (it gets sucked up and compacted in the main dust bag in the base), or to rewet and clean his mop heads. There's a smart mode where you can just let the robot decide what to do- he knows if it's carpet, tile, hardwood, area rug, etc. He's very quiet, I usually cannot hear him at all when one room over or more. In fact, we had the football game on when he came into the family room and it didn't even bother us where we needed to turn up the volume. It's not a whisper, but it's not loud. Kind of like constant 'white noise' in the background. If he somehow gets stuck, he can call for help by making sounds. Or, if you don't know where he is, you can either just look at the app and you can see him moving or where he's stuck right on your map. If he does get stuck somehow, you can opt to receive a text. I do this, and it says exactly what's going on, error code, what room he's in, you can even see the path he took in each room for that particular cleaning cycle. Back to getting stuck, he does an excellent job of avoiding obstacles, but I initially forgot to mark certain areas where I want him to skip in the app. (This is easy to do, you just shade in the area on your map and he will avoid it, but make sure he has access to a path in or out or past it - he follows instructions so if for instance you block too much and cover the door way leading back out of a room, he will stop and send you a message. I forgot to mark under my bed as a no go zone, so once under there it was like an obstacle course, things shifted, there were wires and cords, etc so he got stuck. Not his fault, it was mine for not keeping him out of there. You can set up a schedule in the app where you decide which days of the week, how often, which tasks (mop, vacuum, or both), and which rooms or entire house). He's connected to your phone via a bluetooth connection so you need wifi. We had no dead spots or issues so this was a non-issue but I just wanted to bring that up. Also, if he's vacuuming and let's say he can't get it all in the first swoop, he'll go back and do it again. If he still doesn't have it all, he will repeat this multiple times until either it's cleaned up or it's just not gonna come out- this is for both mopping and vacuuming. His base takes up about as much room as a home office sized paper shredder. If you need help or have a question on how to do something a certain way, their customer support has always gotten back to me within 24 hours via email- or you can call. I hope you found all of this helpful. I would definitely recommend you get yourself this model (Freo Ultra Z).

Absolutely Worth Every Penny, Smart, Quiet, and Effective
I’ve owned a few robot vacuums over the years, but the Freo Z is on a completely different level. From the moment I unboxed it, I could tell it was built with thoughtful engineering and quality in mind. Setup was a breeze, and the app is super intuitive. This thing actually sees and intelligently avoids cables, toys, and even socks. It’s not just bumping into stuff and figuring it out later like older models. I have a girl filled house, and the suction handles hair like a pro. The mopping feature is also impressive—it doesn’t just drag a wet cloth around. It uses hot water, and the self-washing and self-emptying base makes cleaning practically hands-free. What I really love is how quiet it is, especially considering how powerful it is. I can have it running while I work from home or watch TV without being distracted. If you’re looking for a top-tier robot vacuum and mop combo that really delivers on its promises, this is it. It’s not the cheapest out there, but the features and convenience justify the price.

Quiet, Powerful, and a Huge Upgrade from iRobot
We run the Narwal Freo Z10 every other night — even while we and the kids are sleeping — and it’s so whisper-quiet you barely notice it’s on. The cleaning performance is night and day compared to our old iRobot i7+. Carpets look refreshed, and hard floors come out spotless every time. The app is simple to use, and emptying or maintaining the unit is quick and painless. If you want a deep clean without the noise or hassle, this is the robot vacuum to get.

6 months of ownership and zero regrets
I have owned a few robotic vacuums and a robotic mop over the years, so wanting to spend even more money on yet another device left me feeling more than skeptical. I have owned the Narwal for 6 months now, using it weekly to vacuum and mop multiple areas of my house, including both wood and tile floors, and I have no regrets on this purchase. To be able to push a button and this device literally does all the work of vacuuming and mopping the floors is amazing. It gets under furniture, in corners, and detects items lying on the floor and maneuvers around them so they don't become "dinner" for the Narwal. As a bonus, it also dusts the baseboards as it goes along with a soft attachment on the side. The only effort I need to do is add water and empty dirty water for the mop and occasionally replace the waste bag. The mop heads are self-cleaning and they actually clean really well. They are white cloth and the Narwal auto-detects when it is time to go back to the station for a cleaning. I didn't think it would actually keep the mop heads white, but after 6 months, they are as white as the day I first used them. It also auto dries the mop heads when it is done mopping so no mold or mildew after. Previous robotic vacuums I owned would get stuck and I had to hunt them down under furniture because there was no way to know where it got stuck unless you happened to see it or hear an alert. The Narwal, on the unusual occasion it does get stuck somewhere (which doesn't happen often), it tells you right on the app exactly where it is located, so no hunting. What a concept! The best part, it is quiet. When I read other reviews saying the Narwal was quiet, I thought, "No way". I had to pause every other vacuum I ever owned to talk on the phone or watch TV. Not the Narwal. It can vacuum and mop while I sleep and it doesn't disturb me at all. I have cats who hated my previous vacuums, beating on it and running from it because the device was so loud and the cats were "chased" by it. With the Narwal, the cats actually walk right up to it and aren't scared of it because of how quiet and predictable it is. When the Narwal detects a cat, it stops. When you first set up your Narwal on the app, it asks if you have any pets, so it can detect pets in your home during task completion. Predictability in performance is so important. Other vacuums drive around haphazardly, and you hope it happens to get every area of your home. They also need need to return to the base to charge, but it doesn't exactly know where the base is, so it drives around aimlessly until it gets within range and then tries to dock, but gets it wrong over and over and has to keep trying. Sound familiar? Yeah, not the Narwal. The Narwal always knows where the base is. When it needs to go back to the base it goes straight there, drives in to the base the first time like precision. You never realize how annoying other vacuums are until you get the Narwal and you don't have to settle for inadequacy anymore. Now you are probably thinking, this sounds great, but what are the drawbacks? If you want something that is the equivalent of scrubbing the floors on your hands and knees, this isn't it. It isn't 100% perfect. Yes, you will find the occasional crumb still on the floor after vacuuming and you aren't going to eat off your floor after it's done mopping. This isn't a professional cleaning service. It's a robotic device, so I would say manage your expectations. I didn't go into this expecting perfection, so I'm okay with this being really good, not absolutely perfect. It has saved me from a lot of labor, and that matters to me as a person with chronic health conditions. The app has a number of settings and it took me a while to figure out where all the settings are, but I appreciate that it has those customizations. If you don't feel comfortable with technology and app use, that might be a drawback for you. But you could just simply use the buttons on the Narwal unit itself rather than the app for operation. A pro tip: use the lock feature on the unit to lock the buttons. My cat started using the Narwal as a perch and accidentally started pressing buttons. He felt all powerful at his newfound skills in being able to launch the device all on his own!
