I really love these ceramic plates. They have a good weight to them and are made very well. I really like the way how there's a raised lip on the edge which prevents food from spilling out or ending up on the dining table. It saves on washing your mats or tablecloth. Other than that, the finishing is great. The glazing is pretty flawless. There was one plate that had a small missing glaze but it's very minor. It just makes each dish unique especially with the color change on the lip to the center. Having eight plates guarantees that you can have spares in your cabinet if you accidentally break one. But at the end of each meal, I'm always taking care of them because I don't want to lose one at all. It's well worth it and it looks as good as the ones made in Japan.

I was on the hunt for some new salad plates- I was down to just a few stragglers from different sets and they are the size that we tend to use most. These are really nice! The outside is more of a matte dark brown finish with a glossy, teal stoneware inside. They are microwave and dishwasher safe. The glaze seems fairly sturdy so far- no scratches yet from knives. They do have just a couple of tiny spots of flaws in the glaze, but they truly are quite tiny and not really an issue. They have that small lip, which makes them easy to stack in the cupboard, which is a style that I really like. Pricewise, they are pretty much in line with other options, but you do get eight as opposed to four or occasionally 6.
