Great info if you are in a transitional season
The author does a great job of pointing out transitional or liminal seasons of our life and shares personal stories of her journey in navigating those and of coming into more conscious awareness. Down to earth and well written.

Getting through life's changes are hard enough, Liminal Life makes it easier.
Liminal Life is that best friend you need if you are feeling disconnected from yourself and you don't recognize where you are at in your own life. When I first read this book, it truly could not have come at a better time. I was torn between 2 lives of caregiving for my father who lived 10 hours away and being a mom to a young adult. Liminal life help me understand all I was feeling and guided me to make the decisons to get through these transitions. She taught me how to use self-compassion and community. If you are living a life where all the choices seem like "wrong" ones, Liminal Life will have you finding yourself again. AND to boot, you truly feel like you have a new friend. Carrie is so personal and funny. It is a must read.

Jalonen's book is so insightful!
Read my copy of Carrie's book and I enjoyed it immensely! Carrie's style is fun, real, full of references to popular culture, and full of valuable guidance and insights. I recently presented a workshop on Test Anxiety to a group of law students. I spoke about cognitive distortions and negative self-talk. I loved the theme of self-love and acceptance throughout this book, which I am going to recommend at my next workshop. Thank you for this beautiful read and all the personal experiences you shared that really illustrated the concepts for me. I learned what a boon companion is, stifled giggles, and wrote notes for sections I want to read again. I am looking forward to examing my liminal spaces. ❤

Tools for managing life’s transitions - both expected and unexpected - with purpose and hope.
This quick read helped me look honestly at various transitions in my life, and to identify mindsets and patterns of behavior that are not serving me well. I feel encouraged to stop striving for the one “right way” to move forward. I will approach liminal spaces/phases with openness to “both/and” thinking, and consideration of how various paths might look. The author writes with a relatable style, making a complex concept accessible and practical. I know I will return to particular sections of this book over and over as I move forward through transitions to come.

Smart and full of fun surprises.
Like liminality itself, reading Liminal Life is an adventure. You will never go back to "not seeing" liminal spaces in your life or unraveling their meaning. Magic hides in life's transitional moments- especially in those that scare us. Jalonen does an excellent job describing the nature and potential hidden in the unfamiliar places that trigger our vulnerability. With a different perspective and understanding it's a ride of empowerment, growth, and wisdom. This is a beautiful guide book for that journey.
