Such a lovely set and loads for your money. I bought one for my daughter's 9th birthday. She and her sister loved it so much that I had to buy another for my youngest, who's 6. I even enjoyed getting involved! There are three rocks to excavate and they each contain four crystals. There is a small bag to keep the crystals in once you have found them. The hammer is very good although I did give my girls a small flat head screwdriver each (obviously supervised) as the plastic tool provided was taking too long! It's lots of fun and great for a rainy day. We have also been learning about all the different crystals too so also great for educational purposes.

Purchased this set on a last minute whim for my 9 year olds birthday and it was a complete success! She absolutely loved it. It comes with lots of different and wonderful looking ‘gems’ to discover, along with a bunch of tools (some more effective than others) and a little bag to store the gems in. I thought it only came with one rock to dig away at but was really pleased to find that it actually comes with three rocks...and they're huge! This set kept her busy for hours, really captured her attention and was something that she kept wanting to come back to. The only downside is that it's very messy (just put some newspaper or a sheet down, and have a damp cloth on standby - no big deal). I'm really pleased with this purchase, especially at such a brilliant price, and would happily recommend to others.

The toy itself is brilliant fun. Digging for gems is very exciting. I got this for my 7 year old who had no preexisting interest in gems/rocks and he loved it HOWEVER - BE WARNED - the material that forms the lumps the gems are hidden it is very very hard. The tools included simply don't cut it (literally!!!). It did require some creativity and brute force from an adult and a rather large screwdriver. Other things that came out were a big rolling pin and metal teaspoon (the back is great for drilling action!). We ended up breaking off the outer parts of the rock just to uncover the stones a little and then let our child actually dig them out. It is a loud process and makes a lot of mess but it is great fun. It gets only 4 stars and not 5 because if you classify a toy to be suitable for 6+, then I imagine it means a child that age can carry out the activity unaided, which is not the case here. Having said so, I do recommend it for children that have a little patience and focus. It is a nice activity and the gems are lovely.

Have bought several of these recently and always pleased with the product, however this box came damaged and scruffy which is very dissapointing as it's for a gift and I don't have time to send it back and receive another one, and there's no way for me to contact the seller about this.

Me and my 6 year old sister loved playing this and got all the gems. Only negative remake I’ll make is that this is quite a hard toy for a child and the tools that they are given are pretty flimsy and won’t help as much. Adult supervision is definitely needed. Gems are great looking.

My 6 year old niece is mad for all things crystals at the minute. She absolutely loved this and this one represented better value than some other more expensive, more familiarly branded versions. This was really an add on buy on top of the more expensive one (which I expected to be far superior) and wish I’d only bought this one!My slight criticisms are the tools - the hammer is pretty useless and the plastic scraper is pretty small hard and sharp in young hands. I had to do more of a stabbing motion on the tough sand stone to make good enough progress for her and avoid her getting frustrated. Better tools more fit for purpose would be good, but maybe we (I) was just a little bit impatient - perhaps this is supposed to be more slow and laborious play! Overall great toy tho and make sure you do this in the garden. In old clothes. It’s messy!!!

Meine Kinder hatten viel Spaß daran, die Edelsteine herauszuklopfen. Es hat länger gedauert als erwartet, ich empfehle ein Handtuch darunter zu legen, dann ist der Lärmpegel gedämpfter ;) Natürlich entsteht dabei etwas Schmutz, aber der Spaßfaktor ist es wert!

Esta bien para entretener, pero es muy pequeño

Ho preso sia il set grande con 12 pietre, che quello piccolo con 5 pietre. Il blocchetto è piccolino e le pietre anche,forse troppo..a parità di prezzo, quantità di pietre e la loro dimensione meglio il set piú grande

Ho acquistato questo articolo per un regalo a mio nipotino di 5 anni, è rimasto entusiasta.Adora le pietre,... questo kit è stato un dono,su misura per lui e per tutti quei bimbi che vogliono cimentare in primi scavi e trovare fantastiche pietre colorate.
