Incredibly useful for anyone making supplements at home. The tray, tamper, and spreader tools are well made, and once you get the hang of it, it’s fast and satisfying. I've used it with size 00 capsules and had great results. A must-have for DIY pill makers.

For the price you're getting what you need to manually fill capsules. The quality is so-so, but the price point reflects that fairly I think.

I had to wean my dog off medication by dropping his dose from one 100mg capsule down to 50 mg for one month and then to 25mg for a month. 100mg is the smallest dose available so it necessitated me splitting the original (size 2) capsules and redistributing the contents. My dog is tiny and, due to allergies, cannot have gelatin, so I bought the smallest vegetarian capsules I could find which were size 4 (gelatine capsules go one size smaller to size 5). I had no use for the spoons so can't comment on them. I opened each capsule, tipped the contents into the capsule holder, and used the flat end of the double ended spoon to divide the powder into equal portions. So far so good but here's where it could be better. The narrow end of the powder pan is wider than the mouth of a size 4 capsule (and would be considerably wider than the mouth of a size 5) making the filling process a little awkward and time consuming. If you're filling size 3 and above that problem won't exist. The brush worked very well and I had no other issues. In conclusion: I'm happy to recommend this item for filling size 3 capsules and above, and it works ok but not brilliantly for anything smaller.

Bought to fill empty capsules but don’t find it any good

A small yet useful capsule making machine, you can use any size capsule in this, but only a very small amount so if you were making a large amount of capsules, this certainly isn't the right bit of kit. But if you wanted to just make your capsules every day, then this is a goo bit of kit. Comes with everything you need, does feel like you can only 1/2 fill each capsule though as even if you push down the powder, before closing the capsule, still feels like there is a lot of air in each one. But its adequate and works well.
