We spent $750 on real flagstone in our back yard project but needed another $650-$700 in additional flagstone to complete our walkway. We decided to make our own flagstone using vertical blinds as forms that we shaped, bagged concrete and this incredible dye to turn the concrete black by spreading about 2 -3 tablespoons of dye to the top of the freshly poured concrete. Total cost was about $100 in concrete, $20 for the vertical blinds and the coat of the dye. Get creative and save a ton of money by making your own flagstone pavers. The dye comes in various colors.

It looks like I wanted. I added it to charcoal grout to make it more black. It was messy but I expected that. Reasonably priced.

Worked in concrete quite well. I would probably recommend two bags for one 50lbs concrete mix if you want dark. I think I used one and it was a nice darker gray but not black like I wanted. It’s easy to use, I recommend adding once everything is wet or you’ll mix and get black powder dust everywhere. Worth the cost if you need a small job done.

When I first mixed a whole bag with a 7lb box of feather finish I was MAD--I thought it was not pigmented at all. Turned out I just needed to add water to the mix... and then it was way pitch black. So, I guess the point is that it's super pigmented and I recommend playing with your ratios to get the shade you want. I found half a bag mixed with one 7lb Henry's box was the perfect shade for my fireplace makeover.
