The ones I received only measured 4 1/2 inches.

Exactly what I ordered.
I broke one of my size 7 circular needles for my interchangeable knitting set. These were fairly pricey for two needles but I was awfully glad to be able to have a complete set with a spare. They work perfectly.

Quiet needles
I usually use metal needles for the smoothness and slip with yarn, especially rougher yarns. I'd had my eye on Lykke for a while, and these (and the cable I also bought) work very well with a lot of yarns especially the slightly blunt tips. They workedwith all yarns I tried (cotton, coboo, superwash merino, red heart, and the cotton/linen/bamboo from Lion Brand) and were well worth the money. They also fit Knitter's Pride cables if you prefer marked cables.

My Favorite Interchangeable tip
I use this tip for most of my knitting projects, since I have many works in progress, I order extra tips when I use a size from my set. I like them because they are quiet, easy on my hands & warmer than others to the touch. Plus I just like wood!
