This 18.4″ 4K UPerfect portable monitor was the clear winner after extensive research, offering the largest screen I could fly with while still being lightweight, USB-C powered, and practical for professional work. I use it for coding, database work, data analytics, and spreadsheets while traveling and working from cafes, coworking spaces, hotels, and it has been an excellent balance of size, clarity, and portability for a mobile workstation setup. I own two. Let me break it down. For a 4K monitor at this size, the display is roughly 240 pixels per in., which is just slightly below the pixel density of Apple’s Retina-line laptops, so text, code, tables, and spreadsheet details look very sharp and easy to read. It is a 60 Hz panel rather than 120 Hz, but for productivity and professional work, the 4K resolution and high pixel density are what matter most, and the overall clarity is excellent. The connectivity has also been very practical. The USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alt-Mode, so one cable can deliver both power and video from supported laptops and mobile devices, and Mini-HDMI is available for devices that do not support USB-C video. This is especially helpful if your laptop does not have three or more USB-C ports and you want to run two portable monitors, since you can mix USB-C and HDMI connections instead of relying on a single port type. I have also used it to connect directly to my phone, which is useful for recovering data from a phone with a damaged screen (doesnt seem to matter until it does). For all of those reasons, I chose this monitor—but the reason I will keep coming back to this brand is their customer service. After several weeks of use, the HDMI port on my first unit stopped working and I was outside the Amazon return window with no extended warranty. I contacted UPerfect support and received an initial response within about 24 hours, and every follow-up reply from Sophia on their team arrived within 12 hours with clear instructions and solutions at each step. Sophia's sincere unscripted tone made me feel heard. Once I provided my order details and return tracking, they arranged an expedited replacement. I covered the cost to return the defective unit and they covered the replacement and delivery; the speed, communication, and care they provided truly felt like world-class support. I recently purchased the 18.4" monitor for work while I travel for more productivity, and it is perfect. The durability and picture quality are exactly what I would expect from the specifications. It is light weight, high resolution and easy to setup. It comes with 2 USB-C cables and a min-HDMI which allows for more flexibility when connecting to either of my 2 work laptops. While the manual says to connect the power using the supplied power brick, I have not encountered any problems connecting with a single USB-C to my laptop for both power and signal. The stand allows for flexibility when setting up the monitor under different locations, different desk sizes when traveling. The small rubber feet stabilize the monitor even when nearly vertical. The bezel is clean and simple, no logos and I really enjoy that look. I have been traveling with the monitor for about 2 weeks so far with no complaints. I had to purchase a separate sleeve for it but there are a variety of options for this purpose on this size of monitor. And on support, I had a problem with my old 17" monitor and they immediately got back to me and helped me with the upgrade. I would recommend this monitor to anyone in need or a travel monitor.

This is my second Uperfect monitor, and I was excited to try this upgraded version with 4k resolution. My first impressions when it arrived were that the monitor is durable, the metal construction felt premium, and that it had all the needed accessories to be up and running. The box had significant damage from shipping, but even with the damaged packaging, the monitor was not damaged. I connected it to my laptop to test the first feature I was looking forward to having, which is that with a laptop, I can just use 1 USB-C cable to connect to the screen (without using the second USB-C power cable). The monitor came on and mirrored my laptop display just fine. After configuring my Windows laptop to use it as a second monitor, I was able to set it up to use 4k resolution. It is so nice to be able to have much more space to snap multiple windows of the various applications I use. When only using 1 cable with the laptop, the screen is a little dim, as I’m sure my older laptop is not able to supply significant power to deliver the full brightness. I’m fine with that, as it ensures I don’t drain the laptop battery too quickly. I then added the second USB-C cable to deliver more power and the brightness increased significantly. The added benefit is that it also delivered power to charge my laptop battery as well. Aside from the laptop, I have also connected my iPad and my Samsung Z Fold 4. The Samsung DEX Desktop Experience is pretty handy and works well with this monitor. For smaller devices, the monitor does need the external power connected to function. I’d recommend having an extension cord available if an outlet is not close by. For the desks I’ve used, I have not needed an extension cord. Overall I would recommend this monitor. I believe it is well built and durable. I’m tempted to get another one because I am used to having 4 monitors with my desktop, so I feel more productive with more monitors handy. Uperfect is also good about providing support too. With my previous monitor, I reached out to them and received a complimentary stand for their 2k monitor I was using at the time. With this purchase, Uperfect emailed me to ask if I needed any assistance. I believe they are willing to provide good support if I were to have any issues.

The Screen developed a permanent purple line almost exactly 30 days after it arrived. I didn't travel with it at all. Just unpacked it, connected it, and had it on my desk as an additional work monitor. So clearly this isn't very durable, and if it can't last sitting on desk, can't imagine it would do well if I was actually using the "portable" part of this monitor. I did attempt to try to get a return, but since it was more than 30 days after I purchased it, there wasn't anywhere for me to file this request. The picture quality was great and it's super light and thin. But once that line started appearing, it kinda defeats the purpose. I would definitely try an exchange if the company offered.

Unlike most people I don't start drooling at the prospect of two monitors. I just want one good one. I can only look at one screen at a time anyhow and to me more monitors is just a waste of electricity. Most people don't know how to Windows + (Arrow key) dock windows on corners or sides of the screen. You can also quickly switch between one app and the next with Alt + Tab or Windows + Tab. That being said, I just place this 18.4 right over the top of my 15" inch laptop's original screen and put a book behind the external monitor's stand so the whole thing doesn't tip over. I've also tried attaching it to my cell phone and rowing machine watching Amazon Prime and or Netflix. When it's paired with my phone, I really wish it were a touch screen. The screen seems a little dim compared to the 3 LG 4K monitors in my house which might be on account of it being matte vs. glossy. That being said, I can totally get my work done while traveling where I'm mostly looking at before and after views of source code changes or using spreadsheets with a lot of columns. Of the 4K 18.4" monitors on Amazon this seems to have the fastest response time. It would seem you have to contact them to extend your warranty and it doesn't include a carrying case in the box which for this much money you'd think they'd just include one. The buttons to configure the monitor are too small and too close together for my liking. There are two short USB-C cables included. It's fine that one of them is short, because it only needs to reach my laptop or cell phone. However, one should be longer so you don't have to buy a longer cable just to reach from a power outlet to the monitor.
