Quality lens w/ manual controls
Great image. Cuts cost with manual controls for aperture & focal length, which is totally fine for applications like landscape photography (lots of time in between shots) or video podcasting (set it once and forget it).

Excellent value,basic, easy to use.
While out shooting photos last week I dropped my wide angle zoom lens, and it broke. Unable to afford a new one I decided to try a less expensive option. This lens is made of metal, and solidly constructed. The focus ring is smooth and easy to dial in. The aperture ring is de-clicked, and also smooth and easy to use. The focus ring and the aperture ring are far enough apart to where you don't bump one adjusting the other. I haven't used a manual focus lens in over 30 years and recently just got back into photography. This lens is easy to use and I was taking clear sharp pictures right out of the gate. I consider this lens to be an excellent value. This is an excellent choice for amateur and advanced amateur photography. I am seriously considering purchasing the 12 mm super wide angle lens.

Great price and very good image quality
Bought this for night shots on a tripod and it is perfect for that. Lens is well built and the aperture and focus rings are smooth. Sharp even at f2 considering price. It is a full manual lens so it is not great for fast "point and shoot" photography but it is a joy when you have time to sit and focus it. My only slight gripe is that my lens moves a decent amount past infinity focus but it might just be my lens. Using the focus magnifier on my Sony a6000 makes up for it. (Two Month Update) This lens is still performing as well as I expected. As I got more familiar with the lens it's becoming my go to for most shots. It's plenty sharp for me and I can't wait to see what I use it for next.

Suitable for Astrophotography
I bought this lens just before taking a 10th anniversary trip up to Borealis Basecamp in Fairbanks, AK to see the northern lights. We were fortunate to have clear skies and see the auroras put on a spellbinding show for two nights. The experience left us veritably awestruck and verklempt, like a cosmic communion of sorts. It was my first attempt at astrophotography and I am happy with the results. I need to get better at focusing the lens - could not get it quite right. However, the lens was good enough to get a nice 16X20 acrylic print for my office. I feel that the photo quality was impressive enough considering the economical price of the lens.

I wanted to like this lens, I really did...
I actually really liked the image quality I got from this lens. It is miles ahead of its TTartisan competitor. However, there were two fatal flaws that made this completely unusable for my needs. 1) The aperture ring, as many of you may know, is unclicked. This wouldn't be a problem except, at least with my sample, the aperture ring had very little resistance and would spin too easily. About 75% of the time when I checked the aperture ring it was not where I had originally set it. This wouldn't be TOO bad except... 2) The depth of field markings seem to be way off. After testing, I had to focus past infinity at an object 50 feet away, and when I attempted to zone focus, I found that what should have been in "reasonable focus" based on the depth of field markings were embarassingly blurry. I really liked the build quality of this lens, but wish the aperture ring was clicked and the depth of field markings were more accurate.

Very good budget fast lens.
Once you get the hang of handling the focus and aperture it can really take some outstanding photos. The attached photo is unedited. Has some pretty good bokeh effect. The focusing rings spin very smoothly and have stops at each end. The body feels very nice and has a decent weight to it. My only complaint is the lens cap isn't very snug and i would worry about it falling off. Shot on a Sony A6000 with polorizer.

It’s manual
It’s alright. I still need to work with it.

Bin insgesamt zufrieden.
