Sturdy wooden shoe stretchers
Handy wooden shoe stretcher. I had a set before but it got lost. These were a great value.

Did the job.
These stretched out some shoes I badly needed to have stretched out. Just have to fiddle with it a bit. Sometimes the things falls apart if the mechanism is not set in the wood part correctly, and you have to put it back together.

Almost perfect...update, medium flaw
These are really really good. Wood is oak, I'm pretty sure -- has a clearcoat on it. Sturdy. Does the job well. Intuitive -- both controls are righty-tighty, left-loosey. Two small quibbles: 1) A couple of plugs were a little hard to insert. Plastic controls left me feeling not 95% confident that they wouldn't break...but the good news is that before I got too worried about it, I was worried more that I might be overstretching my shoes to the point of harming them; so these things are pretty darn strong. Definitely recommended....update, medium flaw, down-graded from 5 stars to 4 star. Flaw is in threads being a little too sharp. As you tighten and loosen the mechanism, the threads can ride on the top/back portion of the shoe -- it cut a thread holding onto the little pull tab on my tennis shoe. The "fix" is to be careful when inserting the stretcher to ensure that the threaded mechanism isn't touching the top/back portion of the shoe; i.e. leave a little gap so that turning the knob/screw won't cut into the top/back of the shore.

Works Perfectly with excellent features
My daughter had some new Vans shoes (black and white checker) and she got some honey mustard sauce on one of them. I tried cleaning them but they still had a yellow hue to the spot. I washed them and they came out brand new but they fit tight. She refused to wear them. I bought this shoe stretcher and put them in for 24 hours. The stretch from front to back was great and then I twisted the center metal crank and it spread out wider and wider. The shoe was like a brick while it was being stretched and after about 24 hours they fit her perfectly. Now she wears them all the time. This shoe stretcher is of great quality and works wonderfully. My parents had a metal one but it had the widening feature but you had to set the width before you put it in the shoe which was a pain. The crank feature for both the stretch and widening is awesome!! This stretcher is made of wood and smells great like it just came out of the shop. Great product and I would definitely buy it again and will tell all of my friends about it.

One of them worked great!
Picked these up when I wound up with a second set of shoes that I was dreading cramming my toes into. Got some solution to spray with as well to avoid putting too much strain on the shoes. First trial run I was a little timid about the stretch, but it did help with the ankle rubbing I was dealing with on that set. Second use was on my new work shoes. Finished up a full day stretch only to find that the stretcher in my right shoe had not actually widened at all when I turned the crank. A bit of experimentation later I find that it not only won't expand when turned inside the shoe, it cannot even maintain the width I expand it to, even if I then cram it into the shoe at the intended width and then extend the length to hold it in place. It just slips out of place as though I was trying to overtighten the cap on a milk carton. I now have the one that DOES work inside the remaining shoe. My left foot feels pretty good considering I just worked on it for a full day. I'd give them two and a half stars for half of the product working as intended, but I can't. So I'll round up to three since the one that works WILL save me some pain, it's just going to take twice as long as I'd hoped.

Broke within the first 24 hours of use
Needed a shoe stretcher to stretch my right shoe only due my bad foot after an accident in 1993. I was very excited to get them in. Once I received them I placed it with the added attachments (relief pods) to stretch the specific location I needed. I then placed the shoe stretcher in my shoe and turned the handle to the desired size and left it in place. I work the night shift (7pm-7am), so it was in place while I worked. Got home the next morning, showered and went to sleep. Upon waking up and getting ready for work I was excited to put on my shoes that were suppose to be stretched. Well, I noticed that the plastic knob by the "L" shaped metal bar that extends from the shoe stretcher was completely cracked and broken. And my right shoe that needed to be stretched was not stretched at all. Very disappointed in this purchase. Guess it is back to finding other items to put inside my shoe to help stretch the area and keeping band-aides on my toes.

They do work
I wish I had bought them sooner for other shoes. I recently bought a beautiful pair of Crown and Ivy loafers that I couldn't get my foot in without much pain. These arrived and I immediately put them in. I left them in for a day. I put the shoes on and I started having trouble with some pain at the end of the work day. I came home and put the stretcher back in. I have no issues now. They work well. I guess depending on how much stretching is needed is how long to leave them in. Highly recommend.

Works Great
I bought a pair of sneakers that was a width smaller than I wanted. Using the "Shoe Stretcher", I can wear them with little to no tightness. Highly recommend.
