We have to take it on trust that this hose meets the R7 specification as marked. It's not difficult to print markings. But it looks and feels good, and has the reinforcement as expected, and is not dissimilar in appearance from Codan or Gates hoses of known origin. Having said that, my understanding is that while R7 used to be the standard for fuel hose resistant to the effects of increasing ethanol component in petrol in the UK, R9 or R14 are now preferred. The main difference between the latter two, which are both Viton-lined, is the pressure they can take (important in fuel-injected systems), but the permeability varies as well. Do your own research. R7 is a lesser specification for this purpose, but probably still much better than ordinary hoses. This is fine for non-critical applications where it can be inspected and replaced if it deteriorates. This hose doesn't come with the spring-type constant pressure clips sometimes provided, (which I prefer to worm-drive types - others may disagree), but at £10.99 for two metres of the 10mm bore hose, it costs less than a quarter of the price of branded R9 or R14.

Needed a length of the 10mm bore pipe to add an oil catch can to my car, which had come with some silicone type tubing. Although that is more flexible, silicone is not ideal for oil and will degrade over time, thus I needed the correct material based pipe. This hose is somewhat more stiffer but still flexible and more importantly its made to specification for fuel and oil liquids. It feels very substational and I know it will do the job required, comparing to automotive OEM quality.

Pleased with this I could buy it by the metre whereas my local motor supplier sold in 3 m lengths It’s fully marked and certified for use; a must if you have a vehicle which is likely to have to be individually inspected
