I’m extremely satisfied with the Merino.tech Merino Wool Base Layer – Men’s 100% Merino Wool Long Sleeve Thermal Shirt. The material is outstanding — soft, breathable, and genuinely warm without feeling bulky. You can immediately tell it’s high-quality merino wool. The fit is excellent and true to size. It sits comfortably against the skin, layers perfectly under jackets or sweaters, and doesn’t itch like lower-grade wool. The craftsmanship and stitching feel durable and well made. Delivery was fast, and the product arrived exactly as expected. If you need a dependable cold-weather base layer that performs and feels premium, this is a great choice. BUY NOW!!!!

Light, Warm, and Going Strong for 2 years.
The long sleeve shirt is impressively warm for how lightweight it feels, making it ideal for layering without bulk. The fit is a bit loose on my 5'10", 180 lb frame, but still extremely comfortable. And the socks? Bonus points all day—they’re ridiculously comfortable, warm, and well-made. Pros: ✅ Deceptively Warm Shirt – Lightweight feel with heavyweight warmth ✅ Excellent for Layering – Perfect for work or motorcycle rides ✅ Top-Tier Socks – A standout part of the set ✅ Breathable & Soft Merino Wool – Regulates temperature well Cons: ❌ A Bit Loose – Could be more fitted, but still cozy Final Thoughts: This set is a must-have for cold weather, with a shockingly warm shirt and socks that steal the show. Ideal for working outdoors, winter riding, or daily layering.

Fit
I’m a 5’4”, size 14, XL size woman and I prefer to wear 30” tunic length tops. I couldn’t find women’s, merino base layer tunics, in that length for any price! I decided to try a men’s Large and after reading the reviews that stated these shirts are long and reading a review that said the sleeves ran a little short, I ordered this shirt. It is beautiful! It’s butter soft, well made, not scratchy and most importantly it fits! The shoulders and arms are roomy, not baggy. The arm length is a little long on me, as expected, but not too long. The torso length is perfect!!!! It falls just below my hips! It’s kind of snug in the hips, but that’s to be expected in a man’s size and I’m a woman with big hips. I can live with that. I will be ordering a half zip on the same size ASAP! If you’re a medium to large size woman, who prefers tunic length base layers, but can’t find one in women’s sizes, buy this shirt. It’s worth every penny! Well done!!!! Update: I put the sweater through a rinse cycle and reshaped the bottom part it to make it drape around my hips. That worked perfectly! I read a review that stated they thought the sweater had some percentage of spandex. I disagree, because, I would have been unable to reshape the sweater so easily if it contained anything like that. I just wanted to mention that. Thanks for an absolutely amazing piece of clothing!

I really like this shirt. But it develops fabric "runs" all too often.
5/6/26 update This company has incredible customer service. I am updating my rating from 3 stars to 4 stars. In addition, I forgot to mention in my original review, when you purchase a garment from this company, like a shirt, they include a free gift, like a pair of socks. A pair of 100% merino socks, for free ! I feel like this company really does try to make their customers happy. 4/27/26 Summary: It is a great shirt, but is not very durable. Develops fabric runs only after about 6 month. It is actually 3 months, considering I wear it only half the time. I really like this shirt. It is light enough to wear most times of the year and it has all the wonderful qualities for which merino wool is loved: warm, but very breathable, comfortable, protective, and natural. But it develops fabric "runs" all too often. For example, I bought one shirt on September 6th. By October that shirt was exchanged because it developed a run. I had bought a total of two of these shirts, one in late August and another was replaced by early October 2025. And I basically am wearing one of them all the time. When one of them gets dirty, I just swap it for another one. Well, it is 4/27/26, and one of them has developed a run. Actually, this shirt had already been repaired a month or two ago. So from about late August or early October, average to mid September 2025, to about late Feb or March, average that to early March 2026, which is about only 6 month, it had to be mended, and now by late April, it needs mending again. I have to say that despite a great idea/design and very competitive price, the quality is deficient. Because even if it is priced very competitivly, if you only buy it for 6 month, it turns out to cost too much. One might say that it is because of such light design is why it is more fragile. And definitely it is a factor. But I own another merino garment which was bought around the same time, and which gets just as much wear, and it is holding up just fine, so far. So I still think that there is a quality issue with these shirts, and this company.

Good quality, keeps you warm.
I recently purchased this base layer and I’m honestly very impressed. The material is thick and high quality. You can immediately feel that it’s not cheap or thin like some other base layers. I took it with me on a trip to Armenia where it was snowing heavily and temperatures dropped to -10°C. This base layer kept me warm the entire time. No complaints at all. It fits comfortably, doesn’t itch, and feels great against the skin. It’s warm but still breathable. I even wear it to sleep sometimes because it’s that comfortable. Cold-weather base layer that actually works, this is a great choice. Highly recommend.

Great for cold weather cycling.
This is a good quality Merino wool thermal base layer. I used it primarily for cold-weather cycling and it performed extremely well. On a recent ride in 20°F temperatures, it kept me comfortably warm without feeling bulky or restrictive. The material seems high quality, well-made and durable. It has a fine, thin feel without being see-through. The black color also matches pretty much anything, if that matters. The set also includes a pair of wool socks that match the quality of the shirt. They’re warm and well made, though a bit too thick for cycling shoes in my case. They’d probably be great for general winter wear or other cold-weather activities. Sizing runs true to size. If you prefer a race-style clinginess for layering under cycling gear, you may want to consider going one size smaller. Overall, this is an excellent base layer for cold conditions, especially for winter cycling.

Wool, what's not to like
Bought this to use as a base layer when riding motorcycles in cool to told weather. Works well for that. Soft and warm without being scratchy. Like it so much I wear it just as a long sleeve shirt when it gets cool enough

So happy I purchased this base layer shirt.
My first merino clothing. I hike year round and was having sweating issues in the winter from the layers I wore. I have used this shirt 5 hikes now and no sweating. I’m very happy I got this shirt. I bought a Man’s because I am a Tall Woman. It’s nice and long to my Hips and the sleeve are a great length. I also like the red goes great with my winter jacket. Came with free socks. I tried them yesterday, they are comfortable but didn’t keep my feet warm. But no doubt they will be great when it’s not freezing cold. I will check to see if they have thicker ones for the winter as my other socks cause my feet to sweat in my hiking boots. These thinner socks kept my feet dry. I’m thankful for the free socks. I also bought another shirt in a lighter weight and that one is great as well. Also not itchy. I just ordered the pants which will arrive this week. I’m looking forward to trying them out on a freezing cold morning hike. I’ll do a review on the pants purchase after I wear them. I highly recommend merino, it’s made a huge difference on my winter hike. Wish I knew about this product before.
