PortaPow 3rd Gen Data Blocker (5x Black)

I needed to plug my dash cam into a USB socket as the cigarette lighter power supply is always live in my car. Unfortunately on plugging the dash cam into the USB socket it recognises the car as a computer and goes into data transfer mode. A quick google suggested a data blocker could solve the problem so I purchased on of these. It works perfectly and my dash cam is now powered by the car USB socket without entering data transfer mode. I am very happy with my purchase.

Given as gifts to family members and friends to protect their data

It works well. I use it to plug an iphone into the usb on an oldish Kia car - preventing obsolete car connections from blocking the charging.

Excellent if you need to connect to power and not data.I use in my wife's VW UP to connect phone to maps and more, it charges the phone and bluetooth does the business.

Basically a condom for your phone . Can USB charge off work computers and it won't allow it to gain access to your phone works well

I was having a problem where whatever i plugged into my car radio would interfere with the speakers and I had just about enough of it. These were exactly what i was needing, and can even charge my phone faster. Great!

It does block data but I can't say I've noticed any difference in charge speed.

This works exactly as I wanted it to, and data connections are indeed blocked. The connectors are nice and tight, and my charge time (iPhone 6s / iPad Pro 9.7") feels about the same so far.

This works when you are traveling and need to hook up your phone to the USB charger in the rental. It doe not down load your information to the car. Keeps your information safe.

Tun genau das, was sie sollen: Sie blockieren ohne Einschränkung den Datentransfer am USB Gerät - völlig egal was angeschlossen wird. Hierdurch kann man sich gegen unerwünschte Verbindungen schützen - z.B. im Zug oder Flugzeug. Wertigkeit der Adapter ist sehr gut. Bin sehr zufrieden!

The media could not be loaded. Ces petits bloqueurs de données USB-A (USB "normal"/"Classique") permettent de bloquer tout transfert de données quand on branche son appareil sur une prise USB-A.En effet, il est recommandé de se méfier des bornes de recharges publiques (Gares, Aéroports, Centres commerciaux,...) à cause des risques de "Juice Jacking" (piratage de votre appareil via infection de ses bornes au préalable). Certains aéroports et certaines entreprises conseillent officiellement d'utiliser des bloqueurs de données sur ce genre de bornes.J'ai testé le produit et il fonctionne parfaitement. Aucun transfert de données n'est possible avec ce bloqueur de données. C'est rendu mécaniquement impossible car certaines pâtes de connexion ont été retirées (voir photos).J'ai l'impression qu'il n'y pas d'effet sur la vitesse de charge. J'ai lu dans les commentaires que certains trouvaient la recharge tantôt plus, tantôt moins rapide avec le bloqueur mais je n'ai pas remarqué de différence.Voici donc un gadget que je conseille à tous ceux qui sont fréquemment en mobilité et/ou qui se veulent très vigilants sur la sécurité. Perso, je l'ai intégré de manière permanente à mes connectiques de voyages.

After reading an article about charging outlets that can be hacked, I researched the subject, and it makes sense to have a blocker , that not only blocks hackers but speed up the charge rate. I sure this will do the trick.
