Not great
Bought a couple of these for of my clients, and found them to be temperamental little things (the wifi adapters not my clients), their not out of box plug and play on Windows 7 or Windows 10 so you'll need to install the driver. Had a few occasions where clients have found that the devices become invisible to Windows 7. Landed up replacing them with similarly priced to-link adapters

Frustrating experience
Right, I spent a very frustrating night trying to get this thing configured properly - Firstly, installation, I was using a old 54g Netgear USB dongle on my newly built gaming desktop which included the usual utility from Netgear so I had to completely uninstall that first - what I didn't realize was you have to keep the bloody thing inserted for it to uninstall - anyway once that was out the way with I installed the driver and utility that came included in the packaging, remembering to reconfigure my router back to 300mbps and to use 5ghz band (Netgear couldn't use that) so I installed the drivers and plugged this in into my computer and....... was getting 54mbps...... Great, after all that I thought.... but I persevered and now I'm getting anywhere from 81, 108, 150 as I plugged in a USB extension cable and have ran the cable to the entrance to the spare bedroom I live in a 2 bed semi and use the virgin super hub 1 which is downstairs on 5ghz and have the 150mb internet and get download speeds with this at just over 100 so its ok but the range is terrible on 5ghz and no better on 2.4 I think it would be a lot better with an antenna but this one doesn't come with one and its tiny so don't expect great signal even though it shows full 5 bars in windows...

Absolutely incredible
I took a gamble after reading the positive reviews on this little piece of tech and I can honestly say that it was well worth it. After my previous internet USB adaptor got bent when the kids knocked it, I knew that I needed something less obtrusive. This device is half the size of my original one. Not only that, I also receive twice the signal strength and not once has it ever dropped out. My router is in a room diagonally opposite to where the computer is, with no clear line of sight, and the signal passing through two internal brick walls. I have no doubt that I could plug this into a laptop and move to the other end of the house and still get a strong signal. Do not be put off if you have never heard of the company name. I hadn't and I do not for one second regret buying one of their products. I believe that you will be very hard-pressed to find an internet USB adaptor of such good quality for such a low price.

The documentation is also poor. Having wasted an hour of my life trying ...
Simply AwfulThis adaptor is advertised as being suitable for Windows 10. Well the documentation that comes with it makes no mention of Windows 10 at all. Instead we are told how to install the adaptor on Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8.The documentation is also poor. Having wasted an hour of my life trying to get this thing to work, it is now off to the landfill, with the rest of the household rubbish. There seems to be a real need for a good, Windows 10, Wi-Fi Dongle. Sadly this isn't it. In future, I will only be buying items like this from a shop, where I can read what is written on the box before I part with my cash.

Windows 7 x64 success at last
Running Windows 7 Ultimate XP on Dell E521. Router: Sky Hub/WPA-PSK TKIP+AES encryption. DHCP Address reservation. After trying to get several USB WiFI dongles to work with my installation of Windows 7 Ultimate x64, I finally have cause to celebrate.Item comes in a small package with just the adapter, instruction booklet and Mini CD containing docs and drivers. It didn't work as a plug'n'play, so I simply did an "Update driver" via Device Manager and pointed it to the driver disc. It was up and running once the driver was installed, and since then it hasn't dropped the network once, or the adapter itself hasn't gone to sleep, as was happening with previous adapters I tried. One thing to note is that - and this is is you need to download drivers due to no CD/DVD drive - currently, the Laptone website [...] has no drivers listed. However the instruction booklet points you towards the Mediatek website so ensure that you check the booklet in case of needing to download drivers.

What a waste of my money
Read all the One-Star reviews - exactly the same problem here. The device doesn't recognise the driver on the disk and the support is a joke. The web address supplied in the manual takes you to a sales-only web site - no support there. After hours of searching I found their very-well-hidden support download page. Alas the Win 10 driver is the same as the XP driver - which is already not recognised by the device. What a waste of my money. I really, really hate this. When will manufacturers learn - please someone they'll tell ten people but DISplease someone and they'll tell a hundred.
