I love over-engineered products and these holsters are no exception. They are well made and will probably last a lifetime. I ordered 2 of them, one for my LC9 and another for my XDS. The LC9 holster was a nearly perfect fit after 15 minutes with it in the holster wrapped in a freezer bag. The XDS holster, however has taken considerably more time to loosen up. I followed the recommended break-in instructions, then wrapped the gun in 2 freezer bags and left it in the holster overnight, then used a hammer handle as another poster recommended, then a fatter screwdriver handle. After about 3 days and all of those steps, it finally feels like it would be fine to carry with it. Considerable break-in time is probably left, but I think carrying with the gun in the holster will accomplish this. I’m the meantime, drawing and holstering are still a bit challenging. That being said, I’m still going to give it 4 stars, based on the solid construction.

Ordered this 1791 holster for my Glock 30S. It is a perfect fit and I especially like that it covers the trigger guard completely and still leaves room to fully grip the pistol on drawing. This is thick quality leather with perfectly smooth and polished edges all around including inside the belt loops. The stitching is uniform, tight and doubled where it should be. I followed the enclosed instructions. I put the pistol in the plastic bag the holster came in, inserted it completely in the holster and let it sit over night. The next day the pistol fit confidently snug with excellent retention and completely serviceable as is. I anticipate that it will keep getting better over the next week or so with daily ware. This holster rides good and tight on the hip at 3:00 or 3:30. The belt loops are good and snug. I had no difficulty threading my Hank's gun belt with just a little effort. This holster will not slide around on a good gun belt. It is going to stay right where you want it. I chose the flat black finish for two reasons. First, it is a perfect match for the Glock's flat grey/black finish. The second reason is that even though it will be worn under a cover garment (most of the time), I don't like drawing unnecessary attention when/if it is exposed to public view. This the perfect utility holster for the perfect utility pistol, in my opinion.

Nice holster. Well made. Looks great. Great price. Doesn't squeak. Keeps gun, including grip, close to body. Out of the box, fit was a real tight for my Springfield XDs 9mm. I did put my gun into a plastic ziplock baggie then into the holster for two days, and it improved the fit. It still is kinda grippy (tacky) on the gun going in and out. Functionally, I prefer a more slick interior (like kydex), so that it slides out a bit easier. Will use some clear shoe polish inside of it to make it less tacky. The other issue with this holster is that if the XDs is pushed down all the way and fully seated (so the trigger guard bottoms out in the holster), the top of the holster will cover the bottom 1/3 of the mag release button and did cause the mag to eject once. I think I will us a dremel tool to notch out the leather (above the stitching) so it doesn't touch the mag release. This should be an easy fix. Will report back. I want this holster to work cuz it is well made and I like the look/feel/smell of leather over kydex. 1791 should consider notching this holster for XDs, if they want to list the XDs as one that fits it. 2-6-17 update. I decided not to modify the holster with a Dremel tool, as it would have come too close to the stitching. I ended up returning it to 1791 Gunleather for a full refund.
