Friendship Bracelets (Klutz) Spiral-bound – 2 Nov. 2009

At six years old, my daughter has reached the age when she often receives craft-kit type gifts. Some are good, some are bad. I actually chose this for something to do over half-term, and it's FAB.Pro's: First, at the price, I figured it wasn't a big loss if she didn't take to it. Second, it's not messy! (yay!) Lastly, it's a good basic, easy to read guide. After about a half hour of me sitting down and walking her through the beginning, she understood and could do the basics on her own.I made tons of these when I was a girl, so while I could teach her on my own or a YouTube video, it's definitely nice to have for her quick reference. It comes with plenty of colours of starter thread and the clip on the end of the book is nice for working with it and keeping everything together. She's had it for two days now, and already it's kept her completely absorbed while at a restaurant and going along for several errands. She's still asking for help from time to time - she looses track of the pattern but it only takes a minute or two for me to undo it and she's soon back on her way. It builds on the basic technique and has directions for several really neat styles.Con's: I'm kinda want to take it from her and play with it myself.

I'm a total beginner at friendship bracelets - just a hobby I fancied having a go at as I love bracelets!This book is designed for youngies - but due to that it's really clear with the instructions. I amend the suggested thread lengths up a few inches to make sure they are long enough for an adult wrist and also to make sure I have enough tying off room to finish a bracelet off with.The clip that comes with the book is superb and makes this a totally portable hobby! it's a very good sturdy little clip with grips on the inside and it hasn't failed me yet by slipping at all.Now that I have learned how to make a few of the bracelets the clip means I can rock up anywhere with some threads, attach the clip to the inside of my Kindle cover or even just the coffee bar menu and sit watching the world go by, having a coffee and making something crafty too.To be fair, the threads are not the greatest and are not easy to use only due to having creases in them where they were wrapped around the bobbins so I would recommend getting some threads along with this little set.I haven't tried the beads yet but they are very tiny so would require a needle to thread them.This is a great little set and having tried this plus also the much more expensive FB maker kits I would go for this one over those. The instructions and clip make the world of difference!

Gives clear instructions on how to make 10 friendship bracelet designs. Comes with variety of coloured strings and beads. I was a bit surprised at how long it took to make a bracelet - quite repetitive and I think some kids, perhaps younger children who find it a bit fiddly, might get a little impatient with it. However if you persevere the bracelets do end up looking really nice , practice makes perfect!

I'm 27, married with two kids and last summer i decided i wanted a new hobby, so i purchased this book. i now make all sorts of things with embroidery floss and couldn't give up if i tried. this book gave me as good understanding of all the basic knots needed to create beautiful bracelets. once i had that down i found a site that has different patterns and went from there. all the pictures are very clear and the written instructions are excellent. i love that it comes with cotton and a handy clip to secure your bracelets whilst knotting them. i would recommend this book to all ages and it would make a fantastic present for anyone or for someone looking for something to keep them occupied.

This has been bought for a birthday gift for a 10 year-old so I haven't actually tried any of the designs, but here is my review of the appearance of the book.The book is just great with 10 designs from basic to more complicated designs (a guide to the level of difficulty would be handy although some designs, but not all, do comment on this). There are 10 skeins of thread, a pack of beads and a clip which allows you to clip the bracelet to the side of the book so you can read the instructions while making the bracelets quite easily. These are all contained in a resealable case which is attached to the spine of the book so no loose bits and pieces (hoorah!).Perfect gift for any girl aged 8 - probably about 13, possibly older(boys are shown in some photos inside so if they feel the inclination they won't feel its exclusively for girls)

I bought this for my 11 year old daughter but unfortunatly she had difficulty making the freindship bracelets, obviously not good at arty things. There is nothing wrong with the quality of the product and if your child is good at making things from scratch ime sure this product will keep them busy on the weekend. There are instructions on how to make the bracelets unfortunatly my daughter was being a bit lazy so i bought the ready made ones instead.Pack of 10 Friendship Bracelets - Great Girls and Boys Party Loot Bag Fillers

Would recommend it to any creative girls from age 7 and onwards, the book excellent explains how to do your own friendships bracelets. it induces creative ideas, it is challenging and hand made product, that brings lots of joy and self satisfactions, mums can work together with girls on that easy steps to follow explained in the book.

Klutz have unos libros fácil de entender. El libro de las pulseras no es diferente. El que venga con los hilos para hacer Las pulseras es un plus.

Although the content of the book is good, the condition in which it was received was very poor. The beads and the clip were missing and the book was dog eared.

This is our 2nd Klutz book we have purchased. (we have the Cootie Catcher) AND WE LOVE THEM!My daughter, age 9 is a big fan, especially on the rainy days. It will remind you of those bracelets I think we all learned to make as a kid PLUS some really different versions of them. Not a whole lot of string comes with it, so if you are giving it as a gift (which we did- her best friend, age 10), Make sure you pick up some extra string. I was able to find them at pretty much any craft store for 25 cents a color. (Not bad- eh?)It comes with a handy clip and a measuring area on the book to make things a lot easier then when I was a kid! No more putting the string under a heavy book and working that way :o)WOrTh EvEry PennY!

El libro esta bien, y también los materiales que lo acompañan. Es para principiantes, tienen diseños de pulseras muy facilitos. Para un regalito para alguien que se quiera iniciar en este mundo esta bien como punto de partida, para nosotras que somos algo mas expertas se nos queda muy corto.

Fantastic resource if you are looking for a book to guide you in how to create friendship bracelets. It is wonderfully designed so that you can clip your bracelet onto the book, it will be held steady while you easily view the instructions and work on the bracelet. Several colours of floss and beads are included. I was very happy with my purchase - this is the perfect choice for beginners. Although it is intended for children, it is suitable for adults as well (of which I am one!).
