A Well-Advance Smartphone Gimbal - Hohem iSteady M7
The media could not be loaded. When I received my Hohem iSteady M7, the high quality of the packaging and protective carrying case stood out. And that same quality continued as I assembled the gimbal (which was very simple). The instructions were clear and the instructional online video options are also high quality. It was simple to hook up to my phone and away I went with playing with this new gimbal. I have other Hohem products, and they keep advancing in what they put out.A couple of the features that are amazing are the detachable magnetic remote control and the telescoping option on the gimbal. The remote control has many great options as well as being able to see what the ai tracking is seeing. You can control everything from this remote and the ai tracking is the smoothest I have seen in a gimbal. The telescoping part of the gimbal makes it versatile in what height you need. The telescoping mechanism is very strong, and the smooth movement is not affected by the full extension of the gimbal.Whether you are using this for fun or for your business, this gimbal is what you need. Quality and functionality and ease of use all in one product. I highly recommend this iSteady M7 for your videography and photography needs (and wants).

Smooth moves + Amazing results!
This is a game-changer for using your iPhone for high quality video! I love how easy it is to use and how it takes my videos to the next level. As a mom, I need it to be easy and reliable. The AI tracker is super smart, keeping the person/subject in frame seamlessly. There's a detachable touchscreen remote which is super convenient and easy to use. It's compact and the stabilizer keeps everything so smooth, even on the move. It's even fun for the kids to experiment with. The built-in extension rod gives you great flexibility for fun, unique shots. Overall, it's a solid, reliable tool for anyone looking to level up their video content! Highly recommend!

iPhone 13 Pro user - tip included
I recently bought the Hohem iSteady M7 Gimbal Stabilizer for my iPhone 13 Pro, and overall, I’m really happy with it! I use it for filming social media videos for clients, so stability and smooth shots are essential for me. The gimbal does an excellent job in that department! The AI tracking feature is awesome, and the detachable touchscreen remote is a game changer. It makes controlling everything so much easier while filming. One of my favorite features is the extendable rod. That’s been one of my biggest complaints about other gimbals — they’re just too short. It’s so great to finally have the ability to extend the rod for those wider shots and more flexibility. However, I did run into a little issue with audio. When I recorded with just the iPhone’s built-in microphone, I noticed a rumbling sound. After calling the company, they suggested the motor might be the cause since the balance seemed fine. I returned the first gimbal and bought a second one, but I encountered the same issue. After digging through some online forums, I realized I just needed to use a Bluetooth microphone to avoid the rumbling. Once I made that switch, the issue was completely solved, and I haven’t looked back! It’s been amazing for my social media projects, and I highly recommend it, especially if you’re doing any sort of video work where you need smooth shots and great features like the magnetic AI tracker and fill light. Definitely worth it!

The Hohem iSteady M7 is an amazing gimbal for smartphone videographers. It's lightweight and easy to handle, delivering smooth, professional-quality videos. The app is simple and keeps getting better. Its AI tracking is spot-on, great for action shots. With up to 18 hours of battery life, you can shoot all day. It’s sturdy and works well with devices like the Samsung S24 Ultra, even with extra lenses.Plus, it offers cool shooting modes like Inception for creative videos. Overall, it's a top choice for smooth, cinematic filming.

Issues/bad build quality
The media could not be loaded. Update: so this time I used it in a real world situation on a shoot1. You cannot use this for vertical video with the AI because of the fact that it thinks your subject is within the frame when it's outside of it because it is programmed for horizontal video. Completely worthlessI lost several shots before I learned why2. The AI also decides that it wants to pick a subject at random several times when I never pressed the screen actually one time the screen was on a different table and I couldn't figure out why I kept losing my shot because the gimbal was moving and then I figured it out when I looked at the remote it decided it was going to pick something within the frame to turn on the AI and focus on and of course it wasn't what I was trying to focus onIt also will turn on the AI feature even if you don't have the AI sensor attachedSo I had to turn it off and start from scratch Without the Ai sensor attached. Then it started working3. The touch screen is great until you want to use the joystick to control the gimbal because your thumb touches the touch screen and then it goes into modes and starts moving in ways you're not trying to move because that's what it's programmed to do in that modeSo if you're thinking about using this for vertical video no need to read further just Don'tUpdate: it did the same thingSee videoDefinitely not worth the money for subpar qualityAnd this is using it for maybe 5 minutes in my bedroom just trying it outIt worked to connect to the app then worked to press record, joystick worked. Then I get the screen of death no signal.. at least this time when I plugged it in and tried to turn it off it actually turned off.Box opening review:To start right out of the box I put my phone, leveled it out and turned it onThen as I was using the remote taken off of the gimbal it lost signal, wouldn't regain the signal even when plugged back into the gimbalThen it wouldn't turn off both with the remote plugged in and with the remote taken off, after trying several times 3-5 times once holding the button down for 20 30 seconds other times holding down the button as described. I plugged it in and as I was trying to record the video showing what was happening as it was plugged in it turned offSo not a great startThat set aside this is Not made for vertical video If you have a large phone 16 pro max for instanceUnless you want to lose a lot of the ability to move it around.Definitely Not made for vertical video with a case with a 67 mm lens with the phone upside down, they did not make it big enough for that it rubs the lens against the gimbal at certain anglesNow we get to the point of what I'm sure you're trying to find out about and that is how is the screenFor horizontal video I'm sure it's great which is why all the reviewers don't talk about the fact that it is terrible for vertical video do not expect to be able to use this for vertical video.. as you try to center your subject properly. It's almost impossible, you think it's at one point of the screen and then at a certain angle it will be at a different part of the screen it's always a little off so there's no way to determine exactly what point the center of your vertical video will be via the screen includedThat gets me back to issues as I was using the remote taken off of the gimbal, it wouldn't move up or down only slowly drifting/angling towards my head and the joystick wasn't responding to any movement of my finger, plugged it in same issueTurned it off with the remote joystick back in turned it on the problem was goneBut I would not say that this is reliable if you're shooting professionally, that would definitely be embarrassing momentAs far as the AI first off it's very difficult to get the screen to allow you to highlight your subject. I had to press the screen many times and it only works every once in awhile...Then once you're actually tracking the subject it loses it very quickly or it starts to track something else instead of what you're trying to trackThe first time I've ever experienced Hohem AI being so inaccurate/ my M6 is much better, so is the mt2A B points are not exactly what you program into it it always drifts further on B point for some reasonNot sure if it's just because they're stronger motors but you can definitely hear the motors, I have never experienced that beforeAlso I did notice the remote got warm after very light usageThe light is not bright enough if you're in a completely dark situation with iPhone it produces and extremely noisy image unless you are extremely close to your face even at 100%That said the light is brighter than it was previouslyNow let's get the things I do like about it1. The AI sensor doesn't just detach with the slightest hit to it like the old one, you have to press in buttons to get it out2. It is very convenient to be able to go to the settings for the light and control by pushing your finger across the screen to be able to increase the brightness or decrease the brightness, also you're able to easily go between 2700 to 6500. I also found out that you're able to use the roll wheel to be able to control the brightness as well.3. Being able to control how fast it is how the motors respond and everything else that you're able to control via the touch screen is awesomeDefinitely overall disappointingI have owned one of their earlier versions, m6 and mt2 and now this one and this is the first time I've ever felt Hohem wasn't good quality.I definitely would not recommend this product to my friends.I'm shocked that they didn't fix the problem of using larger phones by making it slightly bigger to accommodateVery disappointing that they didn't give you the ability to use vertical video accurately via the screenAnd out of the box so many issues as described above and that's only in the first 15 minutes of useFor the first time I'm starting to think Hohem might not be the company I do business with in the future.Which is sad because every other device I've had has been good quality and my favorite gimbals to use via their price pointThey were one of my favorite companies when it comes to the gimbal marketBut overall this is not built properlyThe reviewers online and on here either a got a lot better device and I got it deffective one or they only use it for horizontal videoBecause for vertical video do not buy this Gimbal you will be extremely disappointed.I will continue to test it before I decide if I'm going to return it, if the issues continue for sure this is going backI will do a practice shoot and hopefully it doesn't completely destroy what I'm trying to doBut at this point it's definitely a letdown from my hopes and expectations after seeing YouTube reviews and videos.I will update this review if I get different results
