What a wonderful introduction to the world of Pomeranians. From their history to their idiosyncratic ways this book will give you the basic knowledge you need to have to raise a happy Pom and be a happy owner.

Before going forward with getting our pomeranian puppy I purchased this book, and it has been extremely useful. I've owned dogs before, but never a pomeranian and there are always differences in each breed. This book helped clear up some questions we had, and always gave us some tips we did not even know we needed to know. I would reccomend this book to anyone looking into bringing home a pomeranian.

In June of this year my husband got me a 3 mo. old pom for my birthday. I fell in love at first sight, but up until this point I'd always been a human society adopter and had never gotten a dog younger than 1 1/2 old. This book was very helpful in unraveling some of the quirks of the breed, explaining some things to watch out for and special tips to training a pom. Some of it was also a bit no brainer or could be applied to any dog, but it was still insightful in many other areas. With some help from this the fuzzball is well on her way to being trained, at about 5 1/2 months she was completely potty trained which was FABULOUS because my steam cleaner was getting a bit worn out =P. I would recommend this for new owners but just don't treat it like the Pomeranian bible. A bit of common sense mixed with educated information can go a long way with your new best friend.

This one I loved. It could have been some more pictures, but the fact that it is so well written is more important. A fact book that is both funny and contains a lot of useful information. The price was good and the delievry quick. I am very satisfied :)

I am a new Pomeranian owner and just got my 8 week old baby! The breeder recommended this book and it is beyond useful. My puppy became hypoglycemic and the book details what you need to do as it is common for this breed. Without the book and the book's advice, I could have had a serious situation on my hands. This book is great.

I got this for my wife who got a Parti Pomeranian for Christmas. It's chocked full of information for the new Pom owner. One of our cats is just a kitten and they are best buddies, running and playing together. A very useful book for us.

I LOVE the DUMMY series. This was the perfect book to tell me what I need to know. I've definitely decided that no matter how CUTE Pomeranians are, I cannot afford the agony of taking them to the VET so often as my friends describe. I need a small DURABLE dog...just not a Pomeranian... THANKS DUMMIES BOOKS

Enfin un livre complet sur le poméranien, peut-être un peu trop anxiogène, ce n'est pas aussi compliqué d'éduquer et d'aimer un petit Spitz.

Oh, ich mag dieses Buch. Ich wurde vor kurzer Zeit vom Zwergspitz-Fieber angesteckt und spiele durchaus mit dem Gedanken, einem oder zwei Tierchen ein Zuhause zu schenken. Auf dem deutschen Buchmarkt ist der Zwergspitz noch nicht richtig angekommen, also muss es dieser englischsprachige Klassiker reißen und das tut er gar nicht mal so schlecht. 17 Kapitel decken jedes nur erdenkliche Thema ab und quasi jede Frage, die man zur Pomeranian-Haltung hat wird humoresk und freundlich beantwortet.Die Themen (grob übersetzt):1) Vom Zwergspitz-Fieber angesteckt - und nun?2) Was man den Zwergspitz aus - Rassestandart & Charakteristik3) Wie kommt man auf den Hund? - Mädchen oder Junge? Ich liebe den Stil der Autorin, der natürlich im Rahmen der "Dummies"-Reihe auch etwas übertrieben witzig sein will, aber trotzdem sehr gut unterhält.

Ce livre n’existe malheureusement qu’en langue anglaise mais se lit relativement facilement.Se voulant très exhaustif dans son contenu, cela conduit à “subir” une partie non négligeable en rapport avec les soins médicaux pouvant rebuter un lecteur qui recherche surtout des conseils pratiques d’education. Celle-ci peut même aller jusqu’à décourager un lecteur avant l’achat ou une adoption tant les descriptifs de chaque cas médical se succèdent (jusqu’à la pratique du bouche à bouche / massage cardiaque que la grande majorité ne connaît même pas pour la prise en charge humaine!).Certes l’engagement de respect de tout animal doit exister mais il ne s’agit quand même pas d’un humain! J’aimerais voir autant d’attention pour celles et ceux qui meurent de faim dans le monde!Cela étant dit, la dernière partie offre enfin les conseils d’éducation.À noter que ce livre américain précise bien évidemment des liens utiles aux États-Unis (prix, élevages, organismes,...)Pour conclure, lecture intéressante mais ne pas stresser après avoir lu tous les risques médicaux liés à la prise en charge d’un Poméranien!
