Very good for scrapes, wounds, and scratches.

I am not offering medical advice, merely my personal opinion/experience. As with any medical condition, consult a physician. Sulfa powder was developed during WWI to seal wounds and prevent infection. It continued in use through WWII. With a small cut that needs a bit more than a band-aid, sprinkling the powder will dry the blood and form a barrier that seems to protect the wound well. Over a period of a few days, with bathing, it will gradually abrade away, leaving a well healing area. In my instance, no infection or irritation. I believe this is beneficial. It works for me, but, I am not offering medical advice, merely my observation. I will purchase again when needed.

As a registered nurse who has seen people have their sutures taken out too soon or even my own sutures from a simple cut on the hand taken out too soon they cannot be sutured and an ointment will keep the wound open longer because it keeps it wet this product does the exact same thing except it’s a powder which facilitates healing much quicker. I use this on little things on my dog when he comes home from the groomer and has a neck and I use them on myself and my patience. This is an amazing product. If you check out the picture, you will see how beautifully that closed when the sutures were taken out too soon this was my go to product. I highly recommend definitely something to keep on hand.

I absolutely LOVE this antibiotic powder, I have purchased it twice already. I use it for myself if I get a cut or injury and I use it on my cats when they get a bad injury or an abscess. It works great for drying up and healing wound. I like the fact it's got almost the same ingredients as triple antibiotic ointment but it's in a powder form. The only thing I don't like is the packaging. The antibiotic powder is a very fine powder, the shaker top on the bottle is TOO BIG! When you shake powder out you waste a lot, because too much comes out of the big hole on the top of the bottle. To remedy this, I bought a roll of nylon window screen and cut a small 1" square piece out and put it under the screw cap, and screwed the cap back on, now it shakes out in a more controlled amount and not just one big chunk of powder. Maybe the company that makes this powder will see this review and redesign their shaker top so you don't dump out a half bottle of powder when you just need to cover a small cut! Other than the bottle, the powder works well on people and pets.

I like this stuff. I keep a heft supply of med stuff & always have since Nam. I recall a favorite powder from then, useful cuz it was not a wet gooey mess. It simply works on fresh wounds & lets bandages remain fairly dry other than seepage from tissues. They don't fall of so easily.

Better than triple antibiotic. Doctor recommended. Heals quicker keeping wound dry.
