My personal best neck back massager from 2020-2024
I am a superfan of Medcursor neck back massagers and personally purchased them via Amazon US. I love its capability to really massage, relax, knead tense muscles and knots off around the neck. I should say Medcursor designs its neck back massagers especially with model and style MP200 with special attention, utilizing the latest, newest and effective massaging nodes mechanism to enable the whole piece of kit to become a specialist and expert in neck massaging. By this, I mean the massaging nodes can go that deep into every muscle knot that soared and tensed up. Leaping from 2020 the eight nodes for both sides of massaging central mechanism to currently 2024-25 the adoption of 16 massaging nodes unevenly sized spread throughout two sides simulating hands of a professional masseur, which effort and attention in design really pay off. I was told by the manufacturer that the latest version of MP200 was optimized for being more lightweight, easy to carry and hold, and better massaging quality due to new designs. Bravo!

Massage therapist approved!!!
I MUST SAY....being a massage therapist of 15 years and trying to find something for myself and my clients to help with their pain in between sessions has been tough. I usually tell them and show them about the tennis ball therapy on the wall (not the floor, unless you're doing Trigger Point...too hard to roll around and 'massage' yourself) which IS actually really very effective and quite the life saver. However, there are not too many utube videos of 'the wall' technique. Now, some ppl cannot maneuver and get in certain positions to roll with the ball, much less on the floor. I saw this massager at a clients house and said "Hey! Let me see that!". I was actually looking for a massager that would massage my clients hands because he is a mechanic of 40 years. I put my hand on it and seemed to be the best massager yet for this application! I bought one and am AMAZED! Not even fellow therapists can get in my shoulders and neck like this thing! Now it says neck and back but I use it down the back, on my glutes (butt), legs, hands, feet, just not on the bones. And maybe don't push down on it or lean into it too hard or you may eventually wear out the mechanism that spins the 'knuckles'. I think I'll buy 2 for whenever I wear this one out! My folks took mine, then they got their own. I think I have sent the link to at least 7 people and they ALL bought one. I'm talking within the last 2 weeks AND it ARRIVES SUPER FAST!!! So many ppl with neck and shoulder pain...LOOK NO FURTHER! Coming from a licensed massage therapist, that is a BIG DEAL! Now...it does go deep so if it's too painful when you start off you could put a towel over the 'knuckles' or double up the towel (maybe check with the manufacturer...i wouldn't want to give bad advice). I would also turn the heat off if you do that. Also, you could try not putting your arms in the arm sling because the weight of your arms pulls in down harder on the neck and shoulders, maybe just hold the ends in that case. But I like it deep so I actually push down a bit with my arms and lean in on it with some pillows behind me sitting up in bed. If you are super sore at first (feels bruised) or if you've never really had someone rub on it, you could be hypersensitive. It may get less sensitive over the next few times you use it (if it is a muscular issue that is). I had a client love it so much and it felt so good to her that she sat with it the first night for an hour then she was super sore the next day. I recommend starting easy and work up to it like anything new. Sorry for the novella but I hope this is uber helpful! NOW GO BUY ONE (for a gift) and BUY 2 for yourself AND GET SOME RELIEF!!! Happy moaning LOL!

Great but not for me
It worked well, however, I have a sensitive body/skin and the lowest massage they have is still too hard for me. My husband liked it but this was bought for me. I wish they have lower level…

Must Have!!
This is amazing!! I was a little skeptical at first, but I have a lot of neck and shoulder pain, so I gave it a try. It really helps relieve the pain and has helped a tingling I’ve had in my neck recently. I prefer products that are not wireless. I prefer a cord, because in my experience, anything that has to be charged does not last long, so this massager is perfect. The heat is at the perfect temperature, you can adjust the speed of massage, and you can change the direction. It can also be used on other muscles. I’ve used it on my hips, legs and feet as well. Very versatile.

Exceeded Expectations
I have been hesitant to buy one of these and have looked at them for a few months before i finally purchased this one. I have been extremely impressed with how much it's relieved tension in my upper back and neck. One thing that didn't seem to work initially was the heating component, but just recently it seems as though it's working now? I reached out to customer service regarding the issue initially and they said it was just a mild, low-warming feature. Now that it works, it's warmer than described (not hot though). I've probably used it over a dozen times since buying it ~2 months ago. Averaging once or twice a week, so i think ~$35 is worth it's nprice as a massage usually is more than $60-75. Do I recommend it? Yes, definitely, especially for upper back/shoulder/neck pain and tightness! pros: * can really get knots out of my neck, shoulders, and behind my shoulder blades * holes for your hands/wrists to go through so you can pull the unit to press harder on your back (which i like) * various settings for speed, direction and heat * affordable price point for deep massage in upper back/neck area cons: * doesn't work as well on my lower back as i wanted, but this could be a personal issue: It bruised my lower back when i pushed hard onto it and it still didnt seem to relieve the pain there - it's probable that my pain is more from undiagnosed sciatica rather than knots in my lower back * power cord length is short so i can really only use it in one or two locations in my house... wish it was a few feet longer * heating/warming function didn't work initially and now seems to be intermittent. * I wish (when heating did work) that it would heat warmer as well

Love it.
LOVED, i have purchased 3 overall because i have gifted them. I fell and needed to massage my lower back often. this was great 4 people that have tried mine have gone from their way and bought it for themselves and recommend it to other people. i keep one at work , at my office chair and works great. Quality is great and the design is amazing because you can use it in different ways not just your back. You can also control how much pressure you want to add by pulling the handles , i looove this stuff helps my back so much. It also connects to outlet , no battery needed.

Cheap Materials
Low quality materials. The massage is fairly good but I only bought about three months ago and started using last month. This was to replace one that had lasted two plus years with a lot of use. After using very few times the vinyl is pealing off and flakes come off where ever you are using the massager. The fabric over the moving parts already has holes big enough to see the massaging ball inside. I am a gentle user and take care with all products I use. This is just cheap materials compared to others of this type I own.

Nice but different size than previous models
New Update Jan 2015: I recently received my new Medcursor Shiatzu massage device and as the ones I have purchased in the past it is a quality unit and in some ways better in that the electric motor is a lot quieter than the last one I got and that is appreciated and it runs very smoothly again which is really appreciated and all to the good, however, I immediately noticed it was lighter and for good reason as it was smaller which wasn't great. I liked the older longer arm size as a 6' male these arm straps make me feel like my arms are really cramped and I cannot as easily get the massage unit in positions around my shoulders and mid back as I was with the older units. I was considering even sending it back for that reasons but I didn't want to hassle with that and will make due. Anyway, if you are a bigger than the female model in their ad then you might want to look at this. Other than that the unit works very well so far and basically does the job. I don't know why Medcursor would size down this unit as that is disappointing. Update: I feel this is worth putting under the heading for Important UPDATE. While I have not changed my opinion of the unit itself as I really like the unit I want to write this about the Manufacturer Medcursor. I think companies like this should be recognized when service is a major part of their business model. I bought my unit on Dec 31, 2017 and used it regularly until early May 2019. At that time I was having problems with turning the unit on and off and it was all but unusable. I noticed from the message I got from the company when I bought the unit there was a 18 mo. warranty on the unit which was May 30, 2019 only 3 weeks out. I contacted the company with the problem and was immediately responded to my Mary G who was very helpful and courteous and thought maybe it was the power unit and not the massage unit and to try the 12 volt car adapter. I tried the car adapter that day in my car and yes it worked so I informed her of that and they had a new power adapter out to me in two days which was fantastic service. Unfortunately, that didn't really solve the problem as it still only went on or off by continually pressing the on/off switch until it didn't work at all. My mistake in the car adapter test was I only tried the unit once with the 12 volt adapter and I guess I should have given it a better test. At any rate, I contacted Mary G. again and said for sure it was the on/off switch or something else internal and did that have any other suggestions. She wrote back in a day or so saying it was the unit itself and they would replace the whole unit under the warranty. May 28, 2019 I got the new unit from Medcursor via Amazon. I just wanted to write this up as I still love the piece of equipment itself and I especially love companies who are as honest and considerate of their customers as Medcursor. So, if you are planning on getting a massager such as this I would strongly recommend this unit as you can feel rest assured you will be backed by the company if anything goes wrong with you unit at least through the warranty period. Good luck and happy massaging! My original review: For the price this unit really helps get to to those areas that are really painful. I have replacement shoulders from sports and doing upper body exercises really irritates them and I seem to get a lot of trigger point pain in the cervical and thoracic area. With this unit I am able to really get to those trigger points and next to a professional masseur this is about the best I can do for myself. I have had several of these type units over the years and this is a very good one at this price point. Would buy again. Past experience tells me they usually last about a year to 18 mos. so I bought the extension warranty. For the few bucks it was worth it to me.
