WatchBot Wireless Surveillance Camera with 11x Infrared LED White

Never worked

I thought I'd ordered a WatchBot 3.0 and the delivery note said I'd been sent one, but what I actually received (commendably promptly) is a WatchBot HD. I'm not clear how different this is from the 3.0: it looks exactly similar but is not recognised by WatchBot 3.0 software and its own software is, so far as I can make out, not as capable. There is an online 40-page User Guide for the 3.0 but only a 6-page Quick Set Up Guide for the HD which I found wholly inadequate. I couldn't get beyond the initial set-up - remote steerable viewing (moderate quality) with infra-red night-time capability plus audio (poor quality). I couldn't see how to set up any of the other features (2-way audio, timed or triggered photo or video recording, email alert) that the WatchBot HD may (or may not?) share with the 3.0 and that I wanted. I've no other experience with CCTV or the like, so I don't know how WatchBot compares for quality and value. It's a very neat, handsome little gadget, but in view of the poor software / documentation I can't give it more than two stars. I don't know how I would have got on with a 3.0, but my HD will have to go back, I'm afraid.

Good product very reliable but recently me ddns link expired so am unable to view remotely. 9 days of speaking to helpline and still no joy, will amend update review when resolved, service team do appear to want to help

Great little camera with big pics and recording. Bought to keep an eye on my Ma in Law and carers. Easy to set up except the instruction book is wrong on WIFI connection. Ignore book after scan and find WIFI add share key press APPLY and disconnect ethernet cable within 10secs and then let camera reboot and find WIFI. The book instructions dont work. Also if the unit tells you you dont have adminstrator authority... Press RESET on back for 5 secs and let system reboot to get over this. Other than these points a great simple camera with loads of features. Recommended.

Although this is appears to be a robust camera, it IS NOT as easy to set up as I was led to believe. You will need a high level of technical knowledge to set it up. There are no decent instructions. I wrote to the seller twice for advice but have not had a reply. I think this will turn out to be a waste of money for me. Very disappointed. Don't buy it unless you really are a techy.

It's a great device, but don't expect any after sales service as the company (Electro Box Ltd.) has gone into liquidation.
