Yeah... You should just go by weight. They probably did not count out 100 pods and nor should anyone expect them to. Remember to wear gloves when handling these things, you will regret it if you don't. Or you will eventually get used to various orifices burning.

God I hope not. I have been eating them for well over a year. Also, sprayed with what exactly? I am sure they were sprayed with water while they were growing.
