Greenhurst Oak Radiator Shelf 48"

I love the shiny look of this oak one.I then decided to use it on the kitchen windowsill inside of course.it looks lovely as well.

The one thing a radiator shelf should not do, this did. It began to warp in the middle within hours of installing. Faux wood is actually some sort of pressed board made in China and useless for its intended purpose.

Simples!Fitted the brackets in less than 5 minutes.I screwed the supplied screws into the pre-drilled holes a few turns first, without the brackets in place, then it was easy to hold the brackets in position and turn the screws by hand, enough so that they’d stay in place whilst I got the screwdriver.It’s better to use a long shafted screw driver for the rear screw as, otherwise, the bracket upright gets in the way.While I was choosing which shelf to but, I noticed a lot of complaints about shelves warping.So, to try and avoid that, I used an old metal carpet joining strip to screw to the underside of the shelf. (Make sure screws used are not so long that they come through the top).Seems to work fine.I’ve had the rad on high for a while.Heard some clicks and bangs - but no sign of warping.

Lovely, but bends upwards in the middle when the heating is on, not terribly helpful for a radiator shelf

This shelf is excellent quality, reasonably priced, superbly packaged, with simple instructions! Does the job well.

I was pleased with shelf to a point. My other radiator shelves just required the brackets to be placed at any distance between the underneath part of the shelf and the radiator. I thought this one would have been the same. This was no so. It required the holes which were already marked to be punched through and the brackets screwed in before inserting behind the radiator. As I had ordered a shelf longer than my radiator I was not able to do this as the holes were in the incorrect position. To any one who is handy this would have been no problem as they could have made new holes but I am an elderly person and was unable to carry out this task. I was able to insert the brackets behind the radiator but they are not screwed to the shelf. The shelf looks very well and I am happy with my purchase.Charlotte
